Enjoy the sweet breeze of upcountry in our peaceful, contemporary 2 bedroom "ohana". It is the quiet and comfortable place you have been looking for! Located upcountry in the small town of Makawao, a home away from home while you are in Maui.
Stay in the country, and enjoy the quiet side of Maui. Makawao is a quaint, yet posh town in the heart of Maui, located close to the North Shore beaches, Haleakala Creator, tropical rainforests of Haiku, and the start of the "Road to Hana". Our home is in a residential neighborhood close to art galleries, restaurants, and shopping but when you are sitting on the hammock looking over the tropical property of banana and avocado trees... you will feel worlds away!
The ohana is the smaller of two homes on the property. It was recently renovated from a garage apartment into a colorful, contemporary bungalow. The home backs to large backyard filled with fruit trees and lots of privacy.
Guests will enjoy privacy with the entire apartment to themselves including a full kitchen, half bath and shower room, two bedrooms, lanai, and full backyard. Each bedroom has a private entrance. The yard has a picnic table, fire pit, and large trampoline as well as, several large avocado trees, a guava tree, papaya trees, banana trees, noni trees, and passion fruit vines. Spend your afternoons reading in one of the two large hammocks or in the hammock chair. The house includes access to a piano, hand drum, keyboard, and guitar for music lovers. A flatscreen tv and playstation game console are included for entertainment. Access to a washer and dryer and free parking are also included.
The house is in walking/running distance to a large recreational park great for running laps!
Surfboards are also available for use if needed.
We respect our guests privacy during their stay. We will likely be staying close to the property, so are available if needed. We love to share our knowledge of the island, so just ask! We do have a calm golden retriever on property that you may see from time to time in the yard. She loves pets from animal lovers but also respects the privacy of all our guests.
The Maui Bus runs from the airport to Makawao town. We would gladly pick up guests from town if arrangements are made.
This space is a renovated "barn". It features modern design with rustic exterior.
Our home is in a tropical setting. There will be bugs, sometimes they get inside.

If you want to see what's it like to REALLY LIVE in Hawaii, this is the place! Gentle breeze blowing through the house; hammocks outside your door; bananas, papayas, oranges and avocado growing in your yard; friendly and cute town down the block. This place has it all.
I can't say enough amazing things about Tiffany's place. We got to meet Tiffany and Nathan (and Sasha, their golden retriever) and they couldn't have made us feel more at home. They left bananas from the yard for us to eat and oranges for fresh squeezed juice in the morning.
The house is in great shape with beautiful new floors, brightly painted walls, eclectic decorations and Nathan's artwork adorning the walls. There is a full kitchen, with a newly built island (though we didn't make much use of the kitchen).
The location is great. One mile from Makawao town (small grocery store, galleries, restaurants, etc) and less than 15 minutes drive from larger towns like Paia and from destinations such as the beaches and the road to Hana. Ask Tiffany about nearby hikes (especially the one to the giant wall of caves.
Caveats: there will be bugs. This is the tropics. Accept it. Also, there are roosters crowing at the crack of dawn and children playing in the neighborhood. Didn't bother either of us (though bring some earplugs in case it bothers you).
In conclusion: amazing place, amazing people, amazing price.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I thought Tiffany's property was terrific. It was very private for me and the house and lanai was presented as advertised. The bed was very comfortable, the linen perfect and other than a little more sprucing up for a guest arrival, I was completely satisfied with the room and the price. I'd certainly stay there again if the opportunity arises.
We stayed 3 nights at Tiffany's place and we had wonderful time! Tiffany wasn't in town when we arrived but she was very nice to leave us a note and simple instructions about how to enter the house. The place was kind of in the middle of Maui so it was close to anywhere on the island. The place is perfect for a couple or a family. The hammocks and the backyard was wonderful to spend the evening. They have a full kitchen so we were able to cook and had breakfast at the porch. I definitely recommend staying there for anyone who's looking for a cozy place!
We had a great time at Tiffany's place! From the moment Tiffany called us, as soon as we landed, until when they received us with home made cookies and coffee, we noticed that we had awesome hostesses.
As you'll need a car, for exploring the Island, the house is just a few minutes driving from good restaurants and beaches. I strongly suggest you spend some time with Tiffany and Nathaniel, as they have a lot of good tips, advices and wonderful stories that goes from tips about Big Island to which Zelda game was the best one.
The house is cosy and we spent many hours playing the piano while chatting during the night, while the shower is ideal after a day of hiking.
I really recommend staying there and inviting this young couple for a welcome dinner, full of stories.
We had a lovely time staying upcountry - Tiffany was great - very organized and welcoming. The place is clean, light, and a perfect spot for a couple or even up to 4 people. There is a lot of space in this cottage, and they have hammocks outside to relax in along with a bunch of fruit trees to enjoy (avocados, oranges, noni, etc..) They have a full kitchen so if you like to cook it's really quite nice. I recommend staying here to anyone who's looking for a less touristy experience - we loved it.
