Interaction with Guests
We like to chat to our guests when they arrive, but we appreciate that many people are here for a quiet relaxing break, so wont take up too much of your time! For anyone who wants, we are happy to give information on the local area, or advice on places to go.
Loch Ness is one of the most famous landmarks on the planet. Dores is situated on the quieter, less touristy side of the Loch. It is a peaceful village with a stunning mountain backdrop and shores of the loch as foreground. Despite this, it is only a 10 minute drive to the Highland capital of Inverness, and the tourist attractions of the other side of the Loch can easily be reached in 30 minutes.
Breakfast offers a number of choices to suit everyone - from home made granola and other cereals, toast, fruit, yoghurt and juices, to a cooked option, including porridge, a full Scottish cooked breakfast, and a daily changing special.
People arrive at Balachladaich by car, canoe, bike, and even helicopter on occasion. The local bus service passes our front door 5 times a day, and will happily stop to let you on or off here. The surrounding land is great for cyclists and walkers, and for those who haven't come with any mode of transport, we have a local taxi driver who is happy to help out, and acts as unofficial tour guide too.
There is plenty of parking at Balachladaich B&B.
No smoking in any of our rooms. Sorry, we cannot accepts pets in the house.
