Interaction with Guests
We like to chat to our guests when they arrive, but we appreciate that many people are here for a quiet relaxing break, so wont take up too much of your time! For anyone who wants, we are happy to give information on the local area, or advice on places to go.
Loch Ness is one of the most famous landmarks on the planet. Dores is situated on the quieter, less touristy side of the Loch. It is a peaceful village with a stunning mountain backdrop and shores of the loch as foreground. Despite this, it is only a 10 minute drive to the Highland capital of Inverness, and the tourist attractions of the other side of the Loch can easily be reached in 30 minutes.
Breakfast offers a number of choices to suit everyone - from home made granola and other cereals, toast, fruit, yoghurt and juices, to a cooked option, including porridge, a full Scottish cooked breakfast, and a daily changing special.
People arrive at Balachladaich by car, canoe, bike, and even helicopter on occasion. The local bus service passes our front door 5 times a day, and will happily stop to let you on or off here. The surrounding land is great for cyclists and walkers, and for those who haven't come with any mode of transport, we have a local taxi driver who is happy to help out, and acts as unofficial tour guide too.
There is plenty of parking at Balachladaich B&B.
No smoking in any of our rooms. Sorry, we cannot accepts pets in the house.
Couldn't be happier with the b&b. Location and the view were amazing. Hosts were so friendly with plenty of advice and tips for getting the most out of our days in the Highlands. We would return in a heartbeat!
My wife and I were made to feel very welcome indeed. The accommodation was as described, with the surrounding scenery being even more stunning than I had expected. The furnishings were spotless and comfortable. I found the balcony view over Loch Ness particularly pleasing.
What an experience! Fiona's BnB offers literally a direct touch with Lochness and its landscapes. Even better of the description, the rooms and the all building stand direct on the lake shore. What's more, a private beach is available for bonfires or simply enjoy the lake closely.
You cannot miss it if you travel to Lochness and want to be enchanted by this amazing place.
An absolutely FAB BnB! We would travel to the area just to stay here again.
Fiona and John were fantastic hosts. Fiona was there to meet us and showed us everything we needed.
The BnB is in a brilliant location right on the shores of the beautiful Loch Ness, and they even have a fire pit on the beach for you to use! Very romantic and cosy. The rooms are spacious and decorated very well, making you feel warm and at home. Special touches like homemade fudge make all the difference! And the view over the loch from either the patio or balcony is unbeatable. There is also an equally cosy guest lounge, again with wonderful views and relaxing sofas.
The place is peaceful and looks exactly as it does in the pictures (in fact, the pictures don't do it justice).
The breakfast is hearty and very tasty. John was the perfect host and Fiona the perfect chef, with lots to chose from, all of good quality and even some homemade ingredients.
A truly fantastic BnB.
Fiona and her husband Jon made us feel right at home in their sweet (and less than a year old) BNB.
The room is designed to be accessible for people with a disability, which is really cool: The room & bath are spacious and there's no step to reach the shower. The room is facing the Loch and you can enjoy a gorgeous view directly from your room.
The loch is maybe 15-20 meters away.
Breakfast was fantastic and hearty. We absolutely enjoyed our stay
I loved staying in Fiona and John's beautiful B and B. The location is stunning and I could not fault the facilities. Both Fiona and John were very welcoming and happy for a chat, which was great as I was travelling on my own. Their recommendation for dinner was great and the breakfast they provided was delicious. I would definitely stay with them again if I were ever in the area.
