The apartment was perfect! Exactly as described, clean and well appointed. The host is very communicative and helpful and provided lots of information prior to arrival and answered questions during our stay.
The location is great - close enough to everything to be really convenient, but slightly out of the way so there's very little noise. The building was quiet and clean.
We had no trouble finding the lock box (the host provided photos and clear instructions), and the house manual was incredibly helpful and complete.
The space is small - it's a Tokyo apartment, what do you expect, but we had no problem with three of us in the space. The tatami room is very nice and the futon comfortable. We had company over and had plenty of room. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked breakfast every day - there are plenty of grocery and convenience stores close by.
The view from the bedroom windows is nice - they overlook a small park. Yes, you will hear children playing in the afternoons and weekends, but it's not intrusive.
It's a perfect balance of Western and Eastern style. Our only complaint was that the bathroom was very chilly during our stay, but it was quick to warm up.
The place is nothing fancy - it's not luxurious, or posh. But it is comfortable and convenient, thoughtfully decorated (all the towels and bedding coordinate! It's cute!), and has everything you need for your stay. The neighborhood is safe, and easy to navigate, and the hosts are wonderful!
We're already planning our trip next year, and we're planning to stay in the same place.
It was a pleasant experience except that if 6 of us did stay as planned before, i dont know if there will be any space left for us to move around.
Thank you for the OUTSTANDING accommodations in Tokyo!
The BEST PART of the experience was the fact that the house location is extremely "Centrally-Located". With the Roppongi itchome Tokyo Metro Stop located less than 5 minutes by walking, transportation needs to ALL of Tokyo Attractions are Fast, Efficient, and Inexpensive.
Additionally, The Roppongi itchome Tokyo Metro Stop has a Shopping Center that contains GREAT restaurants, Coffee Shops, and Personal Needs.
Lastly, the Team that manages the house provided EXCELLENT feedback, responses, and actions for every and all requests that we posed. We WOULD NOT HESITATE to stay again when traveling in Tokyo and HIGHLY suggest that when staying in Tokyo, you would SELECT this house and location for your NEXT Visit!
The apartment is very accessible to many points of interest like the supermarket, convenience stores and train station. The heater is the apartment kept us sufficiently warm, considering that it was winter when we were there. The hosts were very nice to provide a detailed list of information and rules for the apartment which made our stay secure and relaxed.
The photos of the apartment shown on the page are accurate as well. However, it might appear smaller than it looks. Our group of 5 stayed in this apartment for a week. It was a little squeezy, but cozy nonetheless
I have been to Japan 4 times and staying here in Roponggi is the best so far. Love the environment and the surroundings. Plus it is very easy to access from the train station. Definitely coming back soon.
Great location, really close to a metro station and quite a few restaurants. The pocket WiFi was extremely helpful when trying to navigate the streets of Tokyo. Heating was excellent. Plenty of room for 4 people, any more might be a bit of a squeeze but is doable. Hosts replied promptly to questions and kept in regular contact while we were there.
Based on the previous reviews, they are pretty accurate about everything from the frustrating location of the lock, to the dated architecture and 'unfriendliness' of the environment. The pictures can be pretty deceiving as to what was realistically offered. But this is largely what the apartments are like in central locations in Tokyo and Osaka etc, albeit with different layouts, with Tokyo's being more compact.
However once you get pass that, its pretty smooth sailing, aside from the fact that the loo and shower aren't seperated, stepping in shower water isn't the best during the winter. Perhaps a renovation to seperate these are in order, or at least a sliding door, than a curtain.
While I think many of these issues all boil down to the design decisions of when these buildings were built, if you're out of the house more often than not this place will cater to your basic needs.
The team were great with their responses, in a prompt and timely matter, and that was a TREMENDOUS help. So don't the place bother you too much, when there is great support.

Konnichi wa! Hello from Tokyo!!! I love to share with you the beauty of contemporary Japanese culture. Having backpacked around the world I know first hand how it feels to be in a new country and to immerse oneself in a new culture. I'm inspired by those little details that we encounter everyday but often get overlooked in our busy lives in Tokyo from signboards to toy designs to building architecture. I would love to share with you our passion for art, Tokyo street culture, and local cuisine!
