Barbara was a great host. She welcomed me with warmth and we had great conversations during my short stay.
I felt like home from beginning to end.
The wonderful apartment is very nicely located and you can reach a lot of things easily.
I would love to visit this amazing city again. Thank you Barbara!!!!
Barbara treated us like a part of her family while our stay. She really dedicates to her hosts so I think we could not have a better choice while in Vancouver. We were very comfortable at her place while having an interesting conversations.
I would chose again Barbara's place to stay in the (website hidden). If you are a barista, she has one of the best coffee's I have ever drunk.
Well, Joan Marc, you know that I was delighted to have you and Albert stay for the short time you were here; in fact, it seemed too short a time … ;~/ Was just getting to know you guys. I hope all is well as you settle back into routine in Barcelona, and I wish you and Albert more happy travels, and all the best in 2015. :)
Thank you for the lovely review…!!
Barbara's place was perfect for our small trip in Vancouver. Located within a few minutes walk from the metro station, very convenient for our Boxing-day shopping. Great view, clean and comfortable bedroom/bathroom.
More than anything, I am really happy for Barbara's thoughtful hospitality! Great communication and clear directions finding the place in advance from her. She kindly and quickly answered our questions, and also gave us recommendations. The Elbow Room cafe was really wonderful!
Would stay here again next time in Vancouver.
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We spent four nice weeks at Barbara’s place. The room is well equipped and the view of the city is just amazing. Our private bathroom was super clean and the shower was great. There is a continental breakfast with very good coffee and notorious bread. Barbara is very bright, friendly, and interesting. Her cat Guido is very cute and we liked playing and cuddling with him. The only thing is that he misses Barbara very much when she is not at home and starts meowing now and then. But we had no big problem with that.
Altogether, staying at Barbara’s place is more like being in a very good B&B than sharing a flat. In particular, using the kitchen is upon consultation and not always possible. However, Barbara is a good cook and she invited us several times for dinner or baked muffins in the morning. We enjoyed the meals and interesting conversations very much. Thank you again.
Oh, my dear Anne-Sophie and Andre,
I think of you often and wonder how you are getting on in fair Vancouver. I am so glad the weather has continued to be mostly clear. Let's hope it stays this way for most of your stay! Thank you so much for the lovely review; you have worded it with care and grace, and I appreciate this. It has been so nice for me to have gotten to know you a little, and I find I miss your happy, warm, and optimistic presence. And I love how you love each other -- you are an inspiration! I wish you both continued success and happiness.
Hi Johanna & Ulf: I'll have to get Google translate in operation -- I see my name a couple of times, so, hmmm... "What terrible things have they written about me?" I wonder. Hehe!! I imagine it's wonderful to be back home with friends and family, but I wish you could have stayed at least a few more days here ... ;~/ Come back with your kids some day!
Barbara was a perfect host. She is so lovely and welcomed us warmly after our 10-hours flight. The apartment was exactly like described. It is situated very central and has an awesome view. We enjoyed our time in Vancouver very much and would definitely stay again in Barbara's Room with a View!
About the Host, Barbara G.
I teach English through a local government-run college to adult immigrants from countries all over the world. I also have a love of dance; in particular, Argentine tango, which has taken me to Buenos Aires and elsewhere in the world.
I am also an avid writer.
I often have guests stay with me from other countries, so when a friend told me about this site, I thought this would be a great way to invite even more interesting people into my home, into my life.
I look forward to meeting you. Cheers!
