Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Love this place! David and Greta are great hosts. Will recommend to others. Only issue was that we found it a bit tricky to find.

  • Min man och jag tillbringade två dagar (nätter) i Gretas fantastiska lilla gästhus. Ett riktigt lyxhotell - väl utrustat, bra internet, rent och fräscht! Greta är dessutom en fantastisk värd!

  • Greta's abode located in Elysian Heights is particularly what made me fall in love with Los Angeles. The images of the guesthouse are only a small threshold to the actual spatial environment- the patio is surrounded by beautiful lush trees and a stone wall, catching all of the filtered light and ample privacy. I will certainly be staying again- it is truly my favorite Airbnb experience yet.

  • We had a wonderful time staying at Greta's. The guesthouse is even more beautiful than in the pictures: perfectly designed to give you lots of light and privacy. Check in and out couldn't be easier. And the neighbourhood is great - Echo Park is my favourite part of Los Angeles. It really feels like a quiet getaway in the city.

  • This guest house was a great place to stay. It is very tasteful and comfortable as well as quiet and private. I would return to stay if given the opportunity.

  • Gretas guesthouse was really nice! Clean, cozy and nicely decorated. The area was great, close to good cafes and the park! Greta was a excellent host, the information and communication was good.
We will definitely stay there again next time we visit L.A.

  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay and David and Greta's guesthouse. It was exactly as pictured, clean, and super quiet - so quiet it was hard to believe we were in LA! The bed was very comfortable and the shower is AMAZING...excellent water pressure, which is important to me :) The communication between us and our hosts was fantastic. Upon our arrival, we found a detailed note of neighborhood coffee shops, restaurants, and bars. Really easy self check-in and check-out. Great location - close to all of the lively action and trendy shopping in East LA. Only 15-20 mins to Hollywood/West LA as well. If you want to stay in LA without all the chaos of LA, this is it!

The only thing that could be an issue for some people (which has nothing to do with our hosts) is the extremely spotty cell phone service. The general area seems to be nearly a complete cell dead zone, which seems crazy for LA. My boyfriend has Verizon and I have AT&T and neither of our phones had service at the house or in the surrounding streets. We had to wait until we got down to Echo Park Ave or Sunset to get service. This was only a minor inconvenience for us, but I can see how for some people it might present a bigger problem. The wifi at the house works great, though, so we could check email just fine.

Overall, a fantastic experience. We would definitely recommend to others!

  • Great House! Amazing!!

  • Greta and Dave were the perfect hosts. They were super communicative and friendly and they even left the lights on for us when we came home late and forgot to turn them on ourselves. Their guest house was extremely cozy, quiet, and gorgeous. It is a little slice of heaven nestled into the hills of Echo Park and is a short walk from the beauty of Elysian Park where you can look over all of downtown. I lived in Southern California for over a decade when I was younger and was never able to appreciate LA for what it was until I stayed here. I very much look forward to coming back here on subsequent visits to the city.

  • Greta and David's accommodations in Los Angeles were terrific! The rental was very comfortable, clean and beautifully done. White floors, clearstory windows, some cement walls, rustic patio. Felt like a $300 room in a fancy hotel. If your intent is to be located on the east side of town, this place is perfect.
