Le Petit Coin de L'Enfant

Apartment - Entire home/apt · M Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001, United States

A very homey and comfortable escape in the heart of DC. I recently repainted this place to fit the style I grew up in with my French family - a style that I also feel is appropriate considering the French design of DC by this guy called L'Enfant :P

The Space

This unit was entirely repainted and refurnished in September 2013. It's located right in the middle of the bustling Mt. Vernon Sq. It's perfect for a couple's escape or for a professional working or attending the DC convention center located 2 blocks away.

It's furnished with a smart tv, a full size bed, a desk, drawers. It's also located upstairs, removed well away from the busy street and foot traffic of people walking by the apartment.

On the good weather days, you can lounge out in the front and backyard with chairs, which is perfect for those warm summer nights to relax. And did I mention that you have good wifi all in and around the building?!!

Also, the fascinating and cultured neighbors add so much charm to the place, as they're always cooking delicious meals and enjoying the leisure DC has to offer. Don't be afraid to chat with them :)

Guest Access

As a guest you will have:
1. Smart TV with tons of channels, netflix and hulu viewing
2. Full size bed
3. Table for work and dining
4. Dresser
5. Really fast & free wireless internet access
6. 1 bath/shower/toilet with 2+ big towels
7. 1 closet
8. A full kitchen with pots, pans, kettle, utensils, plates, spices
9. For security, you will have access to the code to a lockbox, which holds the keys to the apartment.

Interaction with Guests

I am traveling and working a lot in other places, so I will often not be available to provide the keys. But there is a lockbox which I will provide access to you for key access.

I am glued to my phone as well, so you can reach me at nearly any time for questions and concerns.

The Neighborhood

I love this neighborhood! Mt. Vernon is the very novel and thriving place to be. Almost every week, there's a new shop, restaurant, bar opening up in this area. The best part is it's growing fast with new to-dos without losing its classics (Just wander around 8th street and 12th).

I recently took a great picture of skyrises being built next to 3 classic Victorian looking classic houses. It's truly an amazing contrast of the old and new.

Getting around

The Mt. Vernon Sq metro is just 2 blocks away and it's incredibly efficient. If you're staying for more than just a few days, I would recommend getting a DC Metro card. You can put money on the card and it works for the metro and buses all over DC. It's a great thing to have.

Also, there's a fantastic DC bike rentals. Check it out at DC city bikeshare.

Taxis are abundant, but expensive. Try Uber as a good taxi car service. Plus, using your perfectly engineered feet are the best devices when it comes to exploring DC :)

  • The space was perfect for my son and I. I especially appreciated the ability to cook meals during our week-long stay, avoiding eating out the whole time. Great spot, very close to the Metro station making it easy to access any destination in D.C.

  • We recommend staying at Jon's place when visiting DC. It was very close to the metro and the neighborhood is quiet. The bed was also very comfortable. Jon was very patient in answering all of my questions prior to the trip. We encountered an issue with the air mattress during our stay and Jon was very quick to mitigate the situation. We'll definitely stay here again!

  • This turned out to be a very nice place to be snowed in for a day. And when we finally ventured out at 4 p.m. we discovered that it's a great location for travelers, with supermarket and other conveniences nearby.

  • My parents had a good time at Le petit coin de l'Enfant, with very convenient location. The place was clean and cozy, even though the heating system was a bit noisy and not the most comfortable. I would recommend this place!

  • The apartment is in a great location and I like that its set back from the road making it quieter. The apartment was nicely painted and clean and felt like a home.

    December 2013
  • There were a few problems with the unit, but Jon was very concerned and very responsive. He is a good person to do business with.

  • I stayed here for 3 days with my friends. We were three so one of us had to sleep at the air mattress but the mattress was really not good. And the weather was cold so we need to turn on heaters all the time but the electricity went out several times. Rest of the things were okay. It's not that I strongly recommend this room but if 2 persons stay here it could be okay.
