We have a cute, small, private cabin within our Health/fitness bootcamp retreat. We are 5 mi. from Darling Pahoa village and 4 mi. up from the Ocean with surfing, swimming, snorkeling. Also just 5 mi. from the naturally fed hot ponds and 35 min. from Hilo (where the airport is) and 30-40 min. from Volcano national park. Also just take a drive down "red road" along the coast and stop at Mackenzie park on the bluff then head on to Kahena black sand clothing opt. beach and finally the lava field at the end with Uncle Roberts Awa bar and markets with live music. Now that is a must have experience!!!
Shared living space for cooking and eating, and bamboo bathroom with hot shower. Queen bed in the cabin with electricity and wifi throughout. Also a full gym for keeping up with your fitness when the gym is not in use by owner.
This is a quiet, peaceful, private property with no dogs...a kitty lives on the lanai and 1 chicken (very friendly) roams around eating bugs and leaving us eggs.
There are shops and good restaurants in Pahoa along with a public bus system.
We are about Health/fitness and the bootcamp itself is mostly a raw food place with daily exercising and adventures.
No smoking is allowed on the property at all. keeping the air clean for all.
If you need to use the washer/dryer it is an extra 5$ each time. We may have a kayak for use and an extra bike if needed. There is alot of snorkel stuff here for use as well and we can direct you to some of the most awesome (non touristy) things to see and do you can ever imagine!! Been local here for 10 yrs so we know alot about "off the beaten track gems! This is a non touristy area, thick in the Hawaiian culture and an eclectic group of "hippi" type haoles (like me) that have relocated to the big island.
Any questions? Ask away!!
Oooops, sorry about the sideways pic. For more pics and my other listing see Awesome Affordable Jungle retreat
Host Kieba welcomed me with Freshly cut coconut and the coconut water. Her husband was also great to interact with. I had a great time here at the eco cabin. The location is in a quiet road in a quiet countryside until the nighttime when the frogs start chirpping giving the impression of an exotic jungle. It was a really cool experience although you may want to use ear plugs to sleep with. The Eco cabin is fully screened in plus privacy curtains so airflow is maintained. The rain at night was cooling in the normal 30 celsius summer heat. The lower kitchen area is also screened in for airflow and repelling insects. The kitchen is basic but straight forward in setup with good instructions on how to heat the water to wash afterwards. You have one gas burner but loads of pans to cook with if needed. The local supermarkets have great Poke (fresh Ahi/Tuna) so you can avoid cooking, and enjoy the fresh fruit, vegetables and seafood. Farmers' markets are also nearby. There is fridge space to store your cold drinks. You will need a vehicle to get here but you won't hear trucks, cars, or drunken neighbours to distrurb the peace and quiet. Wifi reception was fine in the cabin. Gym was useful with equipment and full range of free weights. There was a lot to see around the area so you will need a few days at least. Gasoline over the Helo side of island is 20 cents cheaper than the Kona side
Mahalo/thank you Neil! IT was a Pleasure having you here....the chickens liked ot too as you fed them you left overs! I am so glad you enjoyed yourself and this side of the island which is MUCH different then Kona side.
You are more then welcome to return at any time! Enjoy your travels around the world and again, I was honored to have you stay here in our simple basic little cabin in the jungle. ALOHA
