This was the first time using Airbnb and our first time visiting Maine. From the first time I contacted Cheryl she was very pleasant and always answered all my questions. My daughter was having a birthday while we were there and Cheryl gave me the names of a few bakeries in the area that I could call about a cake.
The barn is LOVELY! It is warm and homey, we were very comfortable there. Cheryl was sitting on the porch waiting for us when we arrived. She told us a little about the Barn and how they got involved with Airbnb then she showed us around.
We didn't do much exploring since we were there for such a short time but we did enjoy the Fryeburg Fair and the town of Cornish.
My daughters and I can't wait to go back to Maine and enjoy the Barn again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the barn! Keith and Cheryl are wonderful host and we were so grateful for their hospitality. The area and accommodations were just lovely. We truly appreciated the cheese, crackers, bottled water, coffee, juice, popcorn and fruit that were put out for us to enjoy.
My children loved playing with the puzzles and games that were in the room. They made up an additional game of counting all the moose sprinkled throughout the great décor. My husband and I were very happy with the mini-kitchen set up which enabled us to eat breakfast and dinner on site. What a wonderful first trip to Maine!
My two children (14 and 11 yo), my wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Harvest Homestead. The location was perfect for our needs attending a wedding in a nearby town. The hosts Keith and Cheryl were kind, helpful and hospitable, checking in with us the first morning of our stay and offering suggestions for local restaurants and directions to a beautiful hike at Douglas Mountain.
The guesthouse (Barn) was clean, neat and charming and additional perks included complimentary banana bread, fruit and bottled water. We highly recommend this location for a vacation retreat. Thank you Keith and Cheryl for sharing your extended home to our family. - Jason and Linda
Harvest Homestead lodge is a great place to stay. We did feel welcome right away. Also because of the pleasant information brochure. The loft is cosy and we were happy about the wifi and breakfast! It was a pity we could only stay one night. Thanks, Keith & Cheryl!
We had a little trouble finding the place...hadn't driven far enough along the road, and the numbers start over at some point, but I was able to text with Cheryl and she guided us to the place. It's a stunning accommodation in a gorgeous setting. It was a really clean and beautiful space, with comfortable beds and nice linens. There was fresh fruit, crackers, really good cheese, and coffees and teas available. Cheryl was very warm and friendly and helpful. Our kids enjoyed the toys and books and videos that were available. It was really close to a very nice little town with wonderful little shops and the first really good cup of coffee we'd had since arriving in Maine.
Our stay at The Barn was absolutely lovely. The space is beautiful, bright and open with a warm feeling of home. It is superbly clean and decorated with love and care including a lovely bouquet of lily flowers upon our arrival.
We had dinner at Krista's and highly recommend it to all. It was unbelievably delicious.
We had a perfect stay at The Barn and loved the area with its roly poly hills and quaint towns.
Stayed at the guesthouse at Harvest Homestead for a wedding in Parsonsfield, ME with my boyfriend. The guesthouse was large and spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was large and clean and the shower pressure was great. The space is very open and bright with skylights and plenty of windows and two ceiling fans (stayed in August) in addition to AC. It felt very private and the surrounding area is very quiet and peaceful. We spent some time relaxing both on the sunny front porch chairs and the shady backyard lawn chairs which were both so lovely. The guesthouse had it's own Wifi which was huge for me.
My boyfriend loved Keith and Cheryl's hospitality e.g. the delicious cheese and crackers as well as bottled water, coffee, OJ, popcorn and fruit that were provided. I really appreciated Cheryl responding to my questions promptly via text and going out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. The T.V. was outdated and there's no cable (only DVDs) which did not bother us since we aren't huge T.V. people anyway.
About the Host, Keith & Cheryl
We have always preferred inns, guesthouses, gasthaus (Europe) lodging when traveling. Now we have the chance to offer private, comfortable country lodging to guests who enjoy a more personal touch. Formerly from Massachusetts, we have lived in town for 27 years. We have great neighbors and a beautiful countryside which has great views each season. Come and visit!
