Our retreat is isolated from neighbors by trees, boulders, and a hilltop location in this small community. We’re close to Arizona’s Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial State Park, Yarnell Fire Memorial Park, and The Shrine of St. Joseph of the Mountains. You may see deer, javelina, ravens, buzzards, and other wildlife. Our suite is perfect for couples and solo adventurers. It is very quiet day and night, and has excellent views of Antelope Peak, the Weaver Mountains, and famous Arizona sunsets.

The space
The Mountain Breeze Studio Suite has a king-size, carved solid oak bed with a dual-control Select Comfort / Sleep Number mattress — simply one of the most comfortable mattresses you’ll ever enjoy.
Two relaxing, reclining chairs with matching ottomans invite you to read, nap, or enjoy satellite TV and Netflix in comfort.
The kitchenette includes a refrigerator with separate freezer, toaster oven, microwave, and a hot water kettle to make tea or coffee. Simple breakfast and snack needs are provided such as hot and cold cereals, breakfast bars, muffins, bagels; butter, jams, peanut butter, coffee and tea makings; water, sodas, juices, and fruit. A full hot breakfast at additional cost may be available if requested some days ahead which may include and egg casserole, or pancakes with bacon and eggs, plus squeezed orange juice and coffee from the main kitchen. The freezer will be stocked with ice cubes, and we will supply more as needed. Your private bathroom has an outside window and a full-sized tub and shower. Closet space is available for hanging clothes and storing other items. And there are two luggage racks for your suitcases.

Guest access
A covered breezeway leads directly from a reserved parking space to your private lockable entrance. No stairs, no hassle, no bother. And right outside your door you’ll find a glass-topped table and comfortable chairs — a perfect place for smoking (if you’ve got ’em) and enjoying the quiet and scenery — even if it rains.

Other things to note
There’s a wonderful space to roam and explore right here on our property among the flowers, boulders, and trees. Primarily in front of the house.
If you like to hike, besides the 7-1/2-mile outing at Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial State Park, you’ll find Boulder Mountain, Rich Hill, and state land all around to explore.

Neighborhood highlights

There are three major attractions for you to visit and many other things to do:
The new Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial State Park, just down Yarnell Hill, features a steep uphill climb off Hwy 89, to the top of the mountain and down the other side to the incident site. This park was created to honor the 19 brave firefighters that lost their lives in the Yarnell Hill wildfire on June 30, 2013.
In downtown Yarnell, our own Yarnell Hill Fire Memorial Park, dedicated to the fallen Hotshots, is open every day.
It’s an easy six-block walk to The Shrine of St. Joseph of the Mountains, which includes a walk in the boulders and trees, through Jesus’ life from birth to burial with statures memorializing significant events along the way. Unfortunately, the Shrine closed due to the COVID-19 crisis, and has not yet reopened, but you can still see the setting from the parking lot. It should reopen by Sept. of '21.
Yarnell is one of several gold mining towns close by and we have prospectors galore in the area. You will find excellent antique shops and three restaurants with varying hours and days open. We have a public library and Book Barn, and a hectic Community Center with a terrific thrift store to help support it.
Our community is exceptionally dynamic when it comes to local leadership. There is always something going on, and we have three churches offering services and classes on Sundays.
At an elevation of approximately 4,800 feet, you will be enjoying cool mountain breezes, fascinating terrain, and winding roads coming from Prescott or Phoenix. The vistas are gorgeous and we feel it is the perfect place to live. With mountains surrounding us and cooler temperatures than the valley, we have a wide variety of Arizona’s wildlife. We’re 35 miles northeast of Wickenburg or 45 miles southwest of Prescott on State Route 89. Yarnell is a wonderful small town experience for any traveler.

Hi, my husband, Kurt and I are a long-time married (48 yr) couple in this extremely hospitable little town. When our home burned down in the tragic Yarnell Hill Fire on June 30, 2013, we found a place in town to buy and we love it. We're active in the Yarnell community and love the granite boulder geography and year round weather. We think there are an amazing number of things to see and do here in the high deserts of Arizona.
