It was such a unique experience and the hosts are so friendly! Close enough to Lake District, Scotland and Yorkshire dales, amazing breakfast and hosts baked homemade cakes for us each day (which honestly saved us as we climbed the mountain!) hosts had a large entertaining space! So happy we included this as a stop in our trip :)

Fantastic accommodation, room was lovely so much character and charm. en suite was very large with bath & shower. Breakfast was perfect, not too much, not too little and a lovely selection of locally sourced meats etc. Hosts were so friendly and offered great insight into the local area. Would highly recommend

We stayed at Cristine's house for two nights and absolutely loved it! The house is very beautiful and the room is just incredible- we felt like in a fairy tale! The breakfast was lovely and Cristine and her husband wonderful hosts, giving us lots of great tips of what to do in the surroundings. Highly recommendable- I'm sure we'll be back again!

I doubt we will ever stay in any room again as enchanted as this one. We stepped back into medieval times and were simply enthralled with our surroundings. Christine served us so well as did her husband and the outcome was a perfect stay that we will always remember. Do not miss this opportunity!

Wow! Such a gorgeous place! Could not be happier with our stay. Christine was very friendly and helpful. The surroundings were very pretty and we enjoyed chatting with the cows. The house is outstanding... the oldest we have stayed in. Particularly loved the stone walls and exposed beams. For all the history, we were still spoilt with all modern conveniences... great shower WiFi bed TV etc. Breakfast was the best we have had... perfectly poached eggs with smoked salmon. Lovely fresh fruit. Our stay was absolutely divine in every way. Thank you.

Made very welcome by Christine and Dave. Superb old house, stunning bedroom, beautiful common rooms, immaculate throughout. Extremely quiet and peaceful location, well back from the road (itself quiet). Easy access to main highway. Great breakfast. Recommended.

I am a retired teacher who now runs a b and b in a historic house in Cumbria. David , my husband works part time as an engineer and also works in the b and b. We moved back to the Eden Valley after 30 years in St Bees, West Cumbria. We were both brought up in this area and are getting to know it again. We love travelling, particularly to Europe and the mountains but love cities too.We have 4 grown up children and one grandchild.
