Newly renovated house 1.3 mi from downtown mall. Three bedrooms (two double, one single + a pull-out queen-sized couch available. Can sleep up to 7 people. Shared bathroom & kitchen. Great for families. Host is a retired Latin teacher & farmer.

The Space

Electronic air cleaner for healthy breathing. Three bedrooms available in newly renovated house. All three bedrooms have separate access to the bathroom. The third room has a 3/4 sized bed (between a single and a double) so is good for one person or two people who want to be close.

There is also a pull-out queen-sized couch in the living room.

Easy access to downtown Charlottesville. 1.3 mi walk or drive, two public buses within 5 blocks. Paved off-street parking available for 3 cars.
A wonderful host (retired Latin teacher and family farmer) who can cook you breakfast and answer any questions.

Guest Access

Shared bathroom with shower (access from living room) new kitchen, electric range, washer (no dryer), clothesline in the backyard, plus queen-sized, pull-out couch. I have a Pack-N-Play crib for small children, and a selection of toys, puzzles, and children's books. No extra charge for children under 2 years of age.

Interaction with Guests

Interaction with guests is completely at your discretion. I've lived in Charlottesville for 30 years, so am happy to answer any questions and offer local tourist advice, or I can stay out of the way entirely if you prefer privacy. I can sleep elsewhere if you prefer. Don't hesitate to ask me to sleep away. I have several places to go and I don't mind leaving at all.

The Neighborhood

Across the street from a nature preserve. Country feel in the city. It is a 15 minute walk to some of Belmont's most exciting restaurants: Beer Run, Mas Tapas, Tavola, and the Local. Thirty minute walk to the famous downtown mall.

Getting around

Two city bus lines within four or five blocks.

Other Things to Note

I have off street parking for several cars on a paved driveway.

  • David was a more than pleasant and gracious host. He was kind enough to offer us fresh veggies from his garden and completely make ourselves at home with whatever we needed. The rooms were clean and neat and the bed very comfortable. The air conditioning was extremely functional considering the tremendous summer Charlottesville heat. We were cool as cucumbers. The location is ideally sit tuated very close to the downtown area and we were close to anywhere we wanted to be.

We would definitely stay there again.

  • The stay was very nice, we had a group of 7 and it worked out very nicely, place was clean, very cute, and cozy and the access to UVA and monticello nearby really helped a great deal with getting around the area first time. David was very friendly and set an extra bed exactly like we discussed before arrival, and since we had such a large group of folks it took the guesswork out, and the host was very responsive.

  • Communication with David was superb; he even let me know that he wouldn't actually be in Charlottesville the weekend I was staying at his place, but to call if I needed anything.

Great guy, clean home located about 10-12 minutes from the UVA campus. The neighborhood might be a little industrial for some tastes, but I was OK with it.

David made my first airbnb experience a good one.

  • We stayed at David's house for one night and loved the place! The house is very comfortable and it was wonderful to "come home" after a night out. David was gone while we were there but was available by phone/text at all times.

  • David's house was perfect for five of us in Charlottesville for a night. We didn't meet David, but he was very communicative and welcoming-- he even provided toiletries and homemade granola. I would certainly stay at David's again if I am back in Charlottesville.

  • David could not have been a nicer or more accommodating host. The house was even better than advertised and my wife and two boys felt right at home. We didn't even end up using one of the bedrooms since my boys insisted on sleeping together the one night we were there. Definitely try some of David's homemade granola if you stay here.

  • David's home was comfortable & close to downtown Cville. It was the perfect place to stop for the night.

  • David was an excellent host and his home is adorable. Three friends and I visited Charlottesville recently for our UVA reunion and found it spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. David was super friendly and easy to reach. We'd gladly stay here again!
