Grethe's apartment is magical. The location is perfect: easy access to the Metro for city exploration and airport trips, and a lovely walk or bike ride away from the center of the city. It's tucked away on a quiet street, and its top-floor location offers beautiful views of the city, especially at sunrise and sunset.
Though Grethe was not able to meet me at the apartment, she made me feel very welcome. She arranged with her neighbors to be available to let me in when I arrived, and she left clear instructions for the apartment along with a big book of maps and other traveler's information. I can't imagine having stayed in a better place!
I stayed for four nights at Grethe's place and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Grethe was remarkably flexible with my arrival time late in the evening and gave me a friendly and warm welcome.
She described the basics for me and took time to answer my questions; she also provided helpful tips for my first activities in Copenhagen and encouraged me to text her in case of further questions. In short, I felt very welcome and Grethe is certainly a warm, outgoing and friendly host.
Her personality is also nicely reflected in her very cosy and simply wonderful apartment full of books, artwork, an array of fascinating lamps and lots of decorations and bric-a-brac. A highiight is the balcony with a view over Copenhagen's roofs and, if you wait for it on a Saturday night around 23.45, a perfect view of Tivoli's fireworks!
The apartment looks just like the pictures and it is truly a feel-good place which made me feel like I was at home.
The only minor caveats I have for future guests at Grethe's place are 1) you will find the shower a bit difficult if you are a very tall or big person and 2) you need to climb a lot of stairs till you are on level 5 of the house so keep that in mind if you have got a lot of heavy luggage.
So, in a nutshell, I can highly recommend Grethe's place.
You will meet a picture book host of the AirBnB concept and stay at a true home away from home.
Thank you, Grethe!
The neighbourhood was lovely as Grethe left us all the information that we needed on the attractions and getting around.
Grethe was a great host. She greeted us at the apartment and explained everything we needed to know.
Her apartment was clean, bright and spacious and located in a very nice area. I would definitely recommend Grethes apartment to anyone visiting Copenhagen. Really enjoyed our stay here :)
Grethe is a very great host! She gave us a very warm welcome. Her flat was very bright, friendly and clean.... and we felt like home. Her apartment is located in a very nice area and nearly everything is within walking distance. We can really recommend her apartment.
Our stay in Grethe´s apartement was great! Lovely flat with great roodf top terrace and view over Copenhagen. The comunication with Grethe was very good. We can highly recommend to stay at her apartment.
We were well welcomed in Copenhaguen by Grethe. She's a charming host and speaks fluently english. She gave us many usefull documentation about Copenhaguen and transports. The apartment is very bright and comfortable. However the bathroom is very small and the shower is rudimentary but effective.
The apartment is on the 5th floor and there is no elevator.
The neighberhood is very quiet and easily accessible from the bus station/metro.
We can recommand this accomodation.
