1 BR by Seaside near O2 & Aviva

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Newgrove Ave, Sandymount, Dublin, Ireland

Perfect for a couple: beautiful, bright and airy apartment in Sandymount. Less than a minute walk from the beach and Irishtown Nature Park. The hustle and bustle of Dublin city center is very close by bus or walking. Close to the crowd, but not in it.

The Space

This apartment will make you feel like you have a home away from home. Come and go as you please. Submerse yourself in the wonderful village of Sandymount or dip in and out of Dublin's nightlife.

The apartment is located on the first floor accessed up one flight of external stairs, no buzzers, bells, entry halls or intercoms.

The kitchen and dining area is where I tend to spend a lot of time. It is bright with a skylight and, though cosy, feels spacious and airy all the time. There is a Bose iPod docking station for you to use and the kitchen has a Gaggia Classic espresso machine; I supply coffee and teabags and there is milk in the fridge. The kitchen is fully equipped for any cooking you may want to do, but you'll most likely want to avail of the local restaurants or Dublin's many fine eateries (feel free to ask my advice, I know them all!) There is also free WiFi internet.

Guest Access

"Mi casa es tu casa" so help yourself to whatever you need to make your stay comfortable. I do ask that guests treat my home with the respect that they would expect from a guest in their own home.

Interaction with Guests

I stay in Sandymount Village just down the street from the apartment and work in the city center. As a restaurant manager, I work odd hours and may be difficult to contact during your stay, but when you can catch me, I am available to assist you with any questions you may have (especially about where to eat and drink in the city center) Originally from the States, I am used to showing guests around if you need a bit of advice. My girlfriend Joan runs a gift shop on Sandymount Green less than a minute from the apartment. Being from the neighborhood, she knows the area inside-out and is more than happy to give some advice or point you in the right direction. In short, we'll help you out or leave you alone, whatever suits you.

The Neighborhood

In my opinion, Sandymount is the nicest village in Dublin. At its center is a beautiful green lined with trees, shops, cafes and restaurants. All of the amenities of Sandymount are literally at your doorstep: Tesco Supermarket, post office, 3 pubs, 5 restaurants, coffee shops, SPAR convenience store, AIB Bank and Bureau de Change, gift shops, O'Brien's off-license, hardware, bookshop, boutiques and even a dentist and florist. Irishtown Garda Station is just a 10 minute walk around the corner if needed.

It is also just minutes away from AVIVA Stadium, the O2 Stadium, Bewley's Hotel, the Four Seasons and the Convention Center.

Getting around

Sandymount from the airport is easily done on the aircoach; it takes about 25 minutes on average (ask the driver to stop on the Strand Road at Newgrove Avenue).

City Center is easily accessed by major bus routes 1 & 47. Both leave from in front of the post office every 10 minutes and take about 15 minutes to get to city center. Walking to city center takes about 25 minutes and taxis are easy to get from the village.

  • we loved it! the apartment is located in a lovely village, well served by public transport, both towards the center and towards the airport, and down the street there is an immense beach.
In the center of the village there is all that can be usefull: pub, grocery stores, hairdressers, dentist, post office, places to have breakfast .
The host was delightful: he received us with a welcome bottle of wine, and left us all the necessary information, and supported us for all impromptu requests
Dublin, we already miss you!!! :-)

  • Leo's apartment is located in Sandymount, a charming village in Dublin. I loved the area. The apartment has everything you'd need. Although I haven't had a chance to meet Leo in person, he was a friendly and communicative host. A pleasant experience!
