Located midway between Yellowstone National Park east entrance (25 miles west) and Cody (25 miles east) on quiet hillside next to cool mountain stream. Exceptionally excellent reviews.
Bonnie was an excellent host and her facility was perfect for our experience visiting Yellowstone. If you stay anywhere inside the park you should expect everything from lodging, food, and gas to be outrageously overpriced and what we saw looked crowded. Yellowstone is a very large place and Bonnie's place is a strategically located retreat, only 30 minutes outside of the east park entrance. We didn't know this ahead of time but our favorite parts of the park were on the east side traveling through Hayden Valley - which we got to drive through every day to and from Bonnie's!
I believe that Bonnie's place is the best spot for the budget conscious traveler wanting to visit Yellowstone. September is the best time to visit Yellowstone with the animals storing up for winter, the weather not to hot or too cold, and the leaves starting to change. Her place is very peaceful, quiet and scenic. She was very communicative ahead of our purchase letting us know she had only one bedroom with a bed but also had a pullout couch in the open living area. She also confirmed that there was no oven. We requested to come anyway with both my parents and me and my wife willing to be a little flexible. We were glad we took this chance as this was the perfect situation for us and Bonnie was a wonderful host, giving us a few other ideas to think about for where to visit while at Yellowstone.
The microwave and a portal electric pan were enough for us to cook simple meals for our three day trip and eat out for a few dinners.
Our trip was perfect. I do not feel I missed seeing anything at Yellowstone. If you are ok putting up with a little more driving in order to retreat from the crowds and prices you will not be disappointed.
Bonnie is a wonderful host! She made us feel welcomed and relaxed right from the start! Her place is in the most peaceful setting and we felt at home. She was very accommodating and took time to share alot of great information about the area and Yellowstone. We loved her beautiful dog Jessie who was also very welcoming- allowing us to give him belly rubs which is the ultimate welcoming gesture for a dog right? LOL!
We would highly recommend Bonnie's place for every reason you look for in a great Airbnb place and host! We had everything we needed to be comfortable and relaxed! And as for Bonnie, well, she is one special lady! Definitely recommend! You won't be disappointed!
This was the perfec getaway spot nestled in the mountains between Cody, WY and Yellowstone. Park. We had the best time of our two week vacation at Bonnie's home where we had all the conveniences of modern living plus all the rustic we could enjoy from trail hikes to horseback riding nearby. Bonnie was so gracious and knowledgeable about the area. She clearly loves her community, and so do we now!
My husband and i stayed at Bonnie's beautiful house for five nights. It was perfect! She had a great view of the mountains outside and we had everything we could have possibly needed on the inside. It was about a 20- 25 min very scenic drive to Yellowstone from her house. We had a wonderful time and went to the park 4 out of the 5 days we were there. We would Def stay with Bonnie again if we have the opportunity :)
My husband, two teenage boys, and I just completed a 10-day whirlwind trip "out west"--our stay at Bonnie's was the highlight of our trip. Her home was a wonderful home base while we visited Yellowstone, Beartooth Highway, and Cody. Even more importantly, though, Bonnie was extremely knowledgeable about the area and helped us to get the most out of our limited time. Her recommendations were fantastic. As an example, she suggested that the boys might enjoy going to a real rodeo; while I was a little reluctant, we followed her advice, and as a result, not only did we have fun at the rodeo but also decided to visit the ProRodeo Hall of Fame during our later stop in Colorado. Thanks so much, Bonnie!
Beautiful home with an incredible host. Bonnie's home and view are unmatched: situated perfectly between Yellowstone and Cody right near the Buffalo Bill Dam/Water Reservoir. The location--seriously--could not be better. And then there's Bonnie: the most wonderful, thoughtful, resourceful host of them all. Her suggestions and recommendations were always spot-on, and she made us feel right at home in her home, even letting us borrow binoculars for our park adventures and offering to make us dinner reservations at one of her favorite spots. Our stay was magical, and we can only hope to get back SOON!
About the Host, Bonnie
As a fellow traveler, I appreciate lovely, reasonably priced, non-commercial places to stay where your experience is enhanced by a hospitable host to help you find your way around and/or by input from a community like airbnb. Being shy to talk with complete strangers while traveling, the personal touch of airbnb communication makes all the difference for me. I love fresh, well-prepared food, wide open spaces, unexpected adventures. As a social policy junkie, I'm intrigued and open to hearing what others think about the world we share.
