Located midway between Yellowstone National Park east entrance (25 miles west) and Cody (25 miles east) on quiet hillside next to cool mountain stream. Exceptionally excellent reviews.
Bonnie, our host, made us feel welcome by meeting us in the driveway and giving us a tour of the apartment. She took time to help us plan our two days in Yellowstone, and provided breakfast for the first morning. She also provided bear spray, which came in handy, as we had a "too-close" encounter with a bear in the park (we didn't have to use the spray, but we were happy to have it). The apartment was cozy and clean, with beautiful views. Plan to bring food, as there is only one nice restaurant close; however, Cody is just 25 minutes away, with a variety of choices.
Bonnie gave us a very warm welcome & was very helpful with suggestions of where to visit. The accommodation was spacious & comfortable with great views across the valleys. The cooking arrangements are a bit quirky but manageable. We loved our stay here - you are within reach of Yellowstone & Cody and all they have to offer.
We loved staying at Bonnie's place. The views from the house were amazing, and she was an awesome host. We had plans to visit Yellowstone while staying here, and the day we arrived, she took time to offer recommendations on what to see and do (which we happily followed).
Had a great stay with Bonnie! Great and beautiful location between Cody and Yellowstone National Park. In Cody, we enjoyed Buffalo Bill Museum, Rodeo, and the Dam. Nice to have the private whole bottom floor to stay in with full refrigerator, washer and dryer for our use. Bonnie was very accommodating with recommendations and supplies. She also left breakfast for the first morning. Only con was no cell service in area, but Bonnie had wi-fi and house phone for our use. Would recommend this house and would love to stay again. Great ranches to ride horses within 3 miles. Loved Bonnie and the location!
Our stay at Bonnie's was phenomenal! She was a wonderful host and incredibly kind! Our boys enjoyed exploring the creek and playing with her dog Jesse. Bonnie also had fabulous suggestions of things to do in the Cody and the Yellowstone area that felt tailored especially for our family! We attended the Cody Rodeo, went to museums, tour the Buffalo Bill Dam and ventured into Yellowstone, plus we also had time to rest and relax at Bonnie's mountain home. The view and the fresh mountain air was spectacular!
Our time at Bonnie's was better than I ever expected. Not only did we have a great place to stay but we left having made a new friend.
Thanks a lot to Bonnie for letting us stay at her wonderful apartment close to Yellowstone . We immediately felt home and we enjoyed our nice conversations.
We found everything we needed and could relax and enjoy our privacy.
Bonnie gave us some most helpful recommendations for our Yellowstone trips, further to maps and travel guides available in the living room.
Next time we will definitely stay at Bonnie's place! Linda & Alex from Germany
Bonnie was an excellent host and her facility was perfect for our experience visiting Yellowstone. If you stay anywhere inside the park you should expect everything from lodging, food, and gas to be outrageously overpriced and what we saw looked crowded. Yellowstone is a very large place and Bonnie's place is a strategically located retreat, only 30 minutes outside of the east park entrance. We didn't know this ahead of time but our favorite parts of the park were on the east side traveling through Hayden Valley - which we got to drive through every day to and from Bonnie's!
I believe that Bonnie's place is the best spot for the budget conscious traveler wanting to visit Yellowstone. September is the best time to visit Yellowstone with the animals storing up for winter, the weather not to hot or too cold, and the leaves starting to change. Her place is very peaceful, quiet and scenic. She was very communicative ahead of our purchase letting us know she had only one bedroom with a bed but also had a pullout couch in the open living area. She also confirmed that there was no oven. We requested to come anyway with both my parents and me and my wife willing to be a little flexible. We were glad we took this chance as this was the perfect situation for us and Bonnie was a wonderful host, giving us a few other ideas to think about for where to visit while at Yellowstone.
The microwave and a portal electric pan were enough for us to cook simple meals for our three day trip and eat out for a few dinners.
Our trip was perfect. I do not feel I missed seeing anything at Yellowstone. If you are ok putting up with a little more driving in order to retreat from the crowds and prices you will not be disappointed.
About the Host, Bonnie
As a fellow traveler, I appreciate lovely, reasonably priced, non-commercial places to stay where your experience is enhanced by a hospitable host to help you find your way around and/or by input from a community like airbnb. Being shy to talk with complete strangers while traveling, the personal touch of airbnb communication makes all the difference for me. I love fresh, well-prepared food, wide open spaces, unexpected adventures. As a social policy junkie, I'm intrigued and open to hearing what others think about the world we share.
