About This Listing
This is a bright and airy single room with shower-room shared with other double guest room in renovated 1838 villa. It is at the rear of our house, overlooking the garden. The single bed is a large single which makes for a really comfortable night's sleep.
We are situated 3 minutes walk from St. Stephen's Green, off Camden Street. We renovated our house in 2000, enhancing the Georgian features in the original house, with a modern kitchen/dining extension onto the south-facing garden. Simple self-service breakfast available.
Guests are welcome to make tea/coffee at any time, using the upstairs livingroom or the garden in nice weather.
We have an elderly cat Chino who visits us from time to time.
Interaction with Guests
We absolutely love Dublin city, having lived in this area since 1977, and will be happy help you find your feet and the secret gems we know and love.
Our business is based very close by, so we are available to meet and help you when you stay with us.
We have lived in our area since 1977, and in our present house since 1994. We are in the heart of the city, and yet in a vibrant residential area, with houses of architectural interest built between 1838 and 1895, with some modern pieces of course as well. We are a few minutes' walk from two beautiful parks, St. Stephen's Green and the Iveagh Gardens, and also close to the Grand Canal with its cycleway all the way to the Bord Gais Theatre and (website hidden) and (website hidden) headquarters. Whelans and The Village music venues are at the end of our street, so that end of the street can be fairly lively, especially at the week-ends.
We are a few minutes' walk from the No. 16 bus from Dublin Airport (every 20 minutes, €2.60) and 10 minutes' walk from the Aircoach Blue Bus Trinity College stop (every 15 minutes, €7). Our street is a city-centre street, so on-street parking is expensive. We are located very close to the Hertz depot on South Circular Road, should you wish to hire a car to go down the country. You can walk all of Dublin city centre from our house, and we are close to both Luas tram lines, and also close to the St. Kevin's Bus should you wish to take a day trip to Glendalough in Co. Wicklow.
Other Things to Note
We have an elderly cat, who makes a rather peculiar cry sound.
No smoking in the house.
I really enjoyed staying with Peter and Natasha. It was a shame that it was only one night. Their home is an island with gardens, books, music, light and warmth in a very busy and central area. I would definitely recommend them however for more than a short stay. I walked everywhere despite excellent bus service.
No improvements are necessary they have thought of everything including wonderful cotton beddings.
I much enjoyed my first stay with Natasha and Pete - who were both friendly and welcoming. The house is interesting architecturally, and filled with pictures and objets d'art - as befits their profession of interior designers. The overall effect is relaxing and homely. I hope to stay again in future. The location is convenient for walking (or many buses) to the city centre, and for restaurants in nearby Camden St.
I like interesting looking houses, like certain kind of furniture and areas of cities. Then came reality: the house: beautiful, the location: perfect, as everything is in walking distance, the room: clean and cosy, breakfast included, and the hosts like family friends who I have known since forever. I found my Dublin home. Thanks so much Natasha and Peter, and also Camille.
Natasha and Peter were warm and generous hosts. I loved finding a hot water bottle waiting in my bed on the damp Dublin night I spent in their artful home. The location is excellent for walking everywhere, and I'd stay there again.
Natasha and Peter are just wonderful persons! When I arrived at them place I felt like visiting some old friends. They made me feel welcome from the first sec on! They are friendly, warm and helpful.
The house is a piece of art (it reflects their life and love for beauty) combined with all comforts wich Natasha and Peter share with the guests! My room had averything I needed and was exactly how described. The house is in a very quite street but is also just 5-10 min by walk from the top sights and 3 min from restaurants&pubs. I enjoyed my stay in Natasha's and Peter's place, I'll come back for sure!

About the Host, Natasha
We are Natasha and Peter, and we run an interior decoration business in Dublin. Our three children are now grown-up, two daughters living in the UK, and our son in the Czech Republic with his partner and two children. We are interested in all aspects of the arts: visual, music, literature, film etc. We are also keen cyclists and swimmers, and have a classic cruiser on the river Shannon. Peter is also a pretty keen golfer!
We spend some time in France, sourcing vintage furniture which we sell from our showroom, which is 5 minutes walk from our house.
