THE IMMEDIATE AREA:
Monti is located by the Roman Forum, it is actually Rome's oldest suburb, you will have the Colosseum at one end of your street and Termini central station a short bus trip or walk away. You also have 2 Underground Metro station close by so getting around town wont be an issue. Via Cavour is 50 metres away and it has many restaurants and bars, scooter rental shops, tour operators and shops all the way up it.
Via dei Serpenti is another great street close by, with a Piazza popular among Italians, expats and tourists. There's a fantastic wine bar there on the corner, perfect for evening Aperitivo's. Along this street during the day, you will find some authentic Roman bakeries that are a must visit.
I know of a few great tour guides in the area which I can suggest, just make sure you tell me in advance so you don't miss out on some critical tours, there's just so much to see.

This apartment was very roomy, with plenty of hanging space and drawers, and surprisingly quiet, considering the location on the busy Via Cavour - thanks mainly to very effective double glazing. The location is perfect, in Monti, the real 'heart' of Rome, yet close to Termini and the Coloseum. The hand-over from Dimitri was fine, and no problems were experienced during my one week stay.
Appartement qui correspond très bien à la description, propre et calme.
Accueil au top malgré notre arrivée tardive ( > minuit )! Quartier sympa, très pratique pour visiter Rome ā pied.
je recommande !
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this place. Location was great - 10min walk to the colosseum, to the ruins of the roman forums and to piazza Venezia. Less than 10min walk to the train station, and the building has a lift - yay! My husband and I like walking, so we even walked to Trastevere for drinks and dinner one night (that's under 30min walk and it's beautiful!). On another night we did a 25min walk to Campo dei Fiori for dinner as well. We tried quite a few of the suggestions from Alessandro, some of which we loved, others not so much. We'd definitely recommend the Roman Food tour (Alessandro will give you more info, otherwise check trip advisor) - that's really awesome and an absolute must. Book it before you reach Rome! We also tried the Osteria da Fortunata, but that one we did not like at all. The quality of the food was very inferior to what we can find in Australia and to what I am able to cook at home (I'm half Italian). The urbano bar was ok but not our type of place. We didn't take the hop-on/hop-off bus - although convenient we found it too expensive.. So we took the train and walked everywhere, occasionally catching cabs, and the cabs didn't try to rip us off.
One attraction I'd highly recommend is Palazzo Valentini - look it up on trip advisor, it's really worth it (you have to book it in advance though).
We would definitely stay at this place again!
The apartment is 10mins walk away from Termini which is very convenient for a tourist. The room is cozy and Alex's brother welcomed us well. It's great experience to live here. Highly recommended!
Our experience here was met with some disappointment. The host accommodated our early check-in, but the host's assistant met us 30+ minutes late. The room was also not cleaned until the early evening, well after the usual check-in time. The host resolved the issue swiftly, but we got the sense that it was our fault and because this unit is at a lower price point.
The photos of the room look better than the actual room. The sofa was dirty and had holes in the sofa cover. The bed was uncomfortable, pillows thin, and only a sheet was provided as a blanket. These details are important as you've spent a lot of money getting to Rome so you need to be well rested and relaxed to fully and efficiently enjoy Italy.
Overall, the host was quick to respond to the issues in a professional way. The location is very convenient and we were able to get around by foot. After our stay here, we would consider similarly or higher priced hotel options instead for a more comfortable stay in Rome.
Dear Wayne, the apartment had been treated a little rough by the previous tenants. We replaced the couch covers and fixed the issues you brought up. However it is a very cost effective property as you mentioned. Blankets were in the cupboard and under the bed. You just needed to ask. We set up the beds for a summer setting as it was 25-30 degrees when you were here.
The cleaners had a bike stolen and were running late, apologies for that again but it couldnt be helped.
