I am a 40 something mum of 1 beautiful daughter. I was born in Liverpool but spent most of my working life away from Liverpool and I’ve now been back 13 years and really enjoying living in the city now. Natalie and I have travelled a lot the last few years and have been fortunate enough to visit Spain, Croatia, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Australia & New Zealand. We are busy planning our next adventures which we hope will include Hong Kong and Thailand. We have stayed at Airbnb properties and we think we know what works and what doesn’t which is why we’ve now opened up our home to what we feel is our little community.
If you’re coming to Liverpool for business or pleasure we can make great recommendations about where to eat or what to see and how to get there. Natalie and I know Liverpool like the back of our hand so feel free to ask away.
As you can see from our reviews our apartment is situated in the heart of the city, there are very few apartment blocks closer than ours. We are opposite the Albert Dock which houses the Echo Arena, we are next to the new Liverpool One shopping complex and are about 10 minutes walk from Lime Street station. We are approximately 15-20 minutes by bus from Liverpool John Lennon airport, 10 minute walk from Lime Street train station, 15 minute walk from Norton Street coach station.
The room is an en-suite double room which has great views out over the dock and wheel. Fresh bed linen and towels will be supplied along with mini toiletries should you need them for your use. There is wardrobe and drawer space for you to drop your stuff. The bathroom has a walk in shower but there is also a family bathroom should you wish to take a soak in the bath.
We provide a continental breakfast of cereals, pastries, tea, coffee, juices and can supply a traditional fry up if needed (needs to be ordered in advance). 3 course homemade dinner can be supplied for £10 per person if required.
The kitchen & lounge:
The open plan kitchen and lounge has amazing views of the waterfront and Albert Dock. Feel free to sit and relax, watch tv or a dvd, play a few games on the wii or sit and read a book, it’s up to you. Help yourself to free tea and coffee, there’s always cold water in the fridge should you need it. Feel free to use the kitchen to prepare a meal or snack, all we ask is that you load the dishwasher when you’ve finished as this is Natalies chore and she hates loading the dishwasher!
We now have unlimited free wifi, just ask us for the password. We can provide a very functional and useful (not old and crap) laptop for you to use whilst you're with us. Having a proper computer available when looking to organise things is always handier and quicker than using smartphones and tablets etc.
We have a washer and dryer and would be happy to show you how to use it (big laundry 20m away if you want to have someone do it for you).
We also now have a triple bunk room suitable for 2 adults and 1 child up to about age 14, please send us an enquiry if you are interested in this option.
We have stated noon for check out but we can be flexible depending on whether we have guests arriving or leaving. Please contact us with any special requests.
Any other questions or requests please just ask!
Guests will have access to their own room with private en suite, kitchen, lounge and laundry room
Interaction with Guests
We love to sit and chat with our guests or equally let them get about their business. We do live in the apartment
We are fairly relaxed but no smoking in the apartment or building and please leave your shoes at the front door as we have cream carpets.
Previous reviewers have said it all. We wanted a weekend in Liverpool. Joanna (and Natalie) are welcoming and engaging hosts. Their apartment is a warm, comfortable, modern apartment with stunning views by day and night over Albert Docks. The room and en suite bathroom made us self-contained when we wished, but we were welcomed to share the comfy living room. All of Liverpool's city centre attractions were in easy walking distance. We could have wanted for nothing else.
Joanne was a great host. We arrived late in the evening but Joanne stayed up to give us a warm welcome and give us a tour in the apartment. The apartment looked great and tidy and the location was very central which gave us the perfect opportunity to checkout Liverpool nightlife. I have no doubt in recommending you to visit Liverpool and stay at Joanne's place.
The apartment is very comfortable and brilliantly located for anyone visit Liverpool, right across the road from Albert dock and close to Liverpool 1. Once you park your car in the undercover, secure parking bay you will not need it again until you leave, as everything is walkable.
I found Jo to be friendly, flexible and accommodating and all went as planned. I would recommend it as advertised.
The only thing i would point out is that this is her home (and that of her daughter) and so you do need to be prepared to share the apartment with her things. This may mean there is only very limited storage space for your things - especially if there is 2 or more staying, or (like me) your stay is more than a weekend.
Beautiful room, perfect location! Jo and Natalie were the perfect hosts, I had the most amazing time, they're both the loveliest people.
Best place to stay in Liverpool!
Joanne has a wonderful flat and it was lovely staying there. The location was perfect for what I needed and it was clean and tidy.
Would stay there again.
Joanne e-mailed us some helpful information and clear directions to her beautiful apartment so we had no problems finding our way. My daughter and I were made very welcome when we arrived. Everything in her apartment was clean and tidy and lovely looking and there was a great view of the waterfront from the living room.
We very much enjoyed our short visit to Liverpool. There are plenty of shops and restaurants close by, as is the Echo Arena which we went to for a concert that evening. We were lucky with the weather - warm and breezy - so we had a great time walking along the waterfront too.
We had a comfortable night's sleep and Joanne had left us a lovely breakfast to enjoy the next morning. Thank you for a fantastic city break!
Unfortunately, we didn't meet Joanne, but we could stay at her apartment, which was really nice. We liked it a lot as it is near the city center and we had a really nice view. The apartment was clean, we got a nice breakfast and Joanne gave us some tips, where we could eat Fish'n'chips (which were the best one I had so far). My sister and me can definitely recommend staying at Joannes really nice apartment.

Myself and 14 year old daughter have travelled around the world together in the last few years and are now looking forward to our trip of a lifetime which will include 3 months off from life.
We've never travelled West so I think that may be on our agenda next. We had never stayed in peoples homes before but thought it would be a fun way to get to know the area and all the secret hideouts and the best places to eat. We have stayed in a few airbnb properties now so we think we know what works but if you think we could improve/change we'd certainly like to hear from you.
My daughter and I do live in the apartment so the lounge and kitchen will be shared with us but please feel free to come in, take your shoes off and relax with us. Your bedroom and en suite bathroom is your own private space.
We have now successfuly hosted a few times for airbnb guests and have met some lovely people.
