Interaction with Guests
I can interact as much or as little as the guests prefer. I try to be sensitive to your privacy at all time, while still remaining available for questions.
Willis Road Wayside is located just 7 miles/15 minutes west of McMinnville at 900 feet elevation. We are at the top of a ridge, looking south at the coast range, and the Alpaca farm located below the property. You will go to sleep to the sound of crickets and awake to the singing of birds. Please note I have two rooms listed with separate URL's that can be viewed: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1442529
Personal transportation is a must to arrive at your lodging. I strongly encourage you to notify me of your approximate arrival time AND call before leaving town. A lost guest is not a happy guest! So call at the first sign of confusion. I will meet you and lead you to my home. It has been done before!
Other Things to Note
Breakfast can be taken in the great room or on the deck, weather permitting. Fresh brewed Starbucks coffee or tea starts your day, followed by your choice of cereal and milk, fresh fruit, yogurt, quiche, and warm local bakery goods
Pets are welcome and easily accommodated with a large back yard. Please monitor and manage your pets closely being respectful should other guests be lodging here, as well. Smoking is allowed outside.
Danna is fantastic. Breakfast was all wonderful, hard to imagine any better. Danna really knows the town - if we could only explore all the wonderful recommendations she had! Danna responded quickly to our last minute request to escape to her wonderful place. We were sad that we could not stay longer than one night. The location is away from the town in the country but easy to drive to and find. Hot tub, friendly outdoor cat, wonderful sitting area, lovely view, very private downstairs for guests (we were the only ones staying), nice bedroom and bed. All good! We would happily return next time we are in the area.
Danna is an excellent host. The view is tranquil. The downstairs rooms are very private and comfortable. The breakfast is great as well. We plan to return soon. Thanks Danna!
From what I've seen, the reviews are positive and they're accurate. Danna's awesome, the home is awesome, the hot tub is wonderful (as is the new leather chair - didn't even sit on the new leather couch) and the breakfast is fantastic. The only thing I would like to add is if your GPS tells you to take Fir Crest Road, ignore it, and take an alternate. Fir Crest is an unpaved washboard with several steep inclines. Coming from the north, south or east, take Baker Creek to Willis.
The house is nested in a woody area, to which the Fall added a lot of magic, when we were there. Danna welcomed us very kindly, we enjoyed her and the breakfast she made was a real treat, the crackle of the fireplace serving as a background noise.
My husband and I spent one night at Danna's beautiful home, and are looking forward to going back the next time we want a mini getaway.
Danna's home is beautiful! The pictures do not do it justice.
We unfortunately were not able to see the full view, as we arrived after dark, and there was an intense fog that rolled in the next morning; however even this was beautiful.
Danna was a wonderful host. Her breakfast was delicious, and she was very helpful in providing suggestions for where to go for dinner.
Seriously a hidden gem!
Danna took the time to contact us before we arrived to make sure we were comfortable with the driving instructions and to verify when we would be able to meet at her home. Our first day was beautiful and sunny so we enjoyed sitting outside looking over the fields below. The next morning we had soft fog which drifted in and out and made for some spectacular photo opportunities. Great location for touring the wineries and the "Spruce Goose".
Danna's house was just perfect and she was very welcoming. Tucked away in the hills, with ample moonlight and stars to keep you company at night and the hills, sunshine and tall trees in the morning. She was so accommodating of our late night arrival, and her breakfast was fantastic. She was so easy to talk to, and also gave us plenty suggestions on things to do in the area. I would definitely go back and stay at her house, if I am in the area.

I am a retired teacher who still enjoys taking on various jobs with the local school district to stay up to date in the field. I recently moved back to my home in the foothills of the coast range, having learned that I am not cut out for city life. Since I love the Oregon country so much, I decided to share my paradise with other travelers.
I recently traveled through India for nine weeks and Australia for five weeks spending much of my time in home stays or B&B's. It allowed me to see a side of the life and culture that otherwise remains hidden to most vacationers who stay on the beaten path. I could be as public or private as I wanted in each situation, but still had access to the local point of view and insights. Please know that I will be sensitive to your needs whether it be quiet, alone time or questions and answers about the local culture, sights and events.
My long term passions include horseback riding (since I was four), boating, reading and traveling. Recently, I have fallen in love with scuba diving which has led me to some interesting places.
I look forward to hosting you in my home and making your trip as pleasant as possible while discovering the beautiful sights of Oregon's Cascade Range, the Willamette Valley Wine Country, and the magnificent coastal beaches and viewpoints.
