Interaction with Guests
If arriving by tram from the railway station I will try to meet people at the tram stop to bring them to the flat. Usually it will be either myself or a representative who will meet and greet, show the flat and run through the information folder. After that depending on the length of stay I may call in person once to check everything ok. Other than that I leave my guests to enjoy their stay in peace and quiet, but am more than happy to have a chat or answer questions as they arise.
There is a handy cafe a 10 minute walk along the valley which is open everyday of the year alongside a play park.
The flat is excellently placed for access to public transport. The bus and tram stop for the city centre is a 3 and 7 minute walk respectively. There are also local buses which run to the surrounding villages. Cars can be parked on the road outside the property.
Other Things to Note
The twin bedroom is not suitable to put beds together to create a double. There is a double sofa bed.
Please don't ask for more than 4 people to stay as refusal may offend.
Please turn the radiators off if you go out for any length of time.
Please put only what nature intended and loo paper down the toilet!
Otherwise please just treat the flat with respect and have a good time.
Sue's daughter welcomed us and showed us around the flat, which we found very homely, comfy and a perfect size for me and my two friends. We really loved the garden but particularly the conservatory as it rained a lot the weekend we were there. There was plenty of sitting space with two sofas plus a sofa bed and then extra seating in the conservatory area. Sue popped down to see us and was very friendly but at the same time left us to it (in a good way). We really appreciated that the flat had everything we needed in the bathroom and kitchen, and even included tea, coffee, milk and the particularly welcome crumpets and butter, meaning we didn't have to rush out to buy the basics. The neighbourhood was nice and quiet but we unfortunately didn't have enough time make the most of it. We didn't use public transport and ended up getting cabs as we needed them. There was a problem with the loo towards the end of our stay but Sue was communicative and quick to sort it out. Overall we found Sue's place good value and would definitely stay there again.
We had a great stay at the Sue's lovely flat - the living space and the garden were both beautiful.
Sue made us feel very welcome indeed. She even accommodated us when our arrangements had to change at the last minute. I would recommend her and this flat highly!
We stayed in the garden flat for 1 night. The accommodation was excellent and we had everything we needed and more. The garden was lovely. Communication with the host was also very good and we were made to feel welcome. It was our first time using airbnb and everything went very smoothly.
The flat was absolutely lovely and exactly as pictured. Comfy sofas and beds, and everything you needed in the kitchen. It was so nice to be able to sit in the garden and look out over the valley too. It was lovely to have our own space and the flat felt very private. Sue was great too, very helpful and considerate. I'd definitely stay again if I needed a place to stay in Sheffield.
We were only staying for one night, coming up for son's graduation, but the flat was very comfortable & had a lovely feel & a spacious lounge and was comfortable.
Sue made us feel very welcome, and we had a lovely time in the apartment, the splendid garden and Rivelin Park.
About the Host, Sue
Teacher and resident of Sheffield for 22 years. Live with my daughter in the house above the flat. My son and partner live down the road. Chances are you will be greeted by a member of the family! Keen gardener, hill walker (so live in the right place - the city built on seven hills!), would be kayaker, enjoy swimming - outdoors preferably. Have airbnb'd the flat since Sep 13 and have enjoyed every moment of it.
