Interaction with Guests
If arriving by tram from the railway station I will try to meet people at the tram stop to bring them to the flat. Usually it will be either myself or a representative who will meet and greet, show the flat and run through the information folder. After that depending on the length of stay I may call in person once to check everything ok. Other than that I leave my guests to enjoy their stay in peace and quiet, but am more than happy to have a chat or answer questions as they arise.
There is a handy cafe a 10 minute walk along the valley which is open everyday of the year alongside a play park.
The flat is excellently placed for access to public transport. The bus and tram stop for the city centre is a 3 and 7 minute walk respectively. There are also local buses which run to the surrounding villages. Cars can be parked on the road outside the property.
Other Things to Note
The twin bedroom is not suitable to put beds together to create a double. There is a double sofa bed.
Please don't ask for more than 4 people to stay as refusal may offend.
Please turn the radiators off if you go out for any length of time.
Please put only what nature intended and loo paper down the toilet!
Otherwise please just treat the flat with respect and have a good time.
This was my first Airbnb experience, and it didn't disappoint. The Garden Flat lived up to previous reviews, and Sue was a fantastic host. I was particularly keen to find self-contained accommodation, which would be suitable for an overnight stay with a toddler. The Garden Flat was perfect, as my little boy was able to sleep in his own room whilst I enjoyed an evening in the comfortable living space.
The flat was in a perfect location for our stay, and additionally benefited from peaceful surroundings, and a beautiful outlook. We would definitely like to make a return visit!
A great flat for little ones with lots of space :) Sue was very helpful and purchased a cot for our convenience. The view from the flat was delightful. The bathroom needs a little updating but i would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a weekend getaway with children. Thank you, Sue.
Just returned home from our fantastic stay at Sue's place. The flat was pretty nice and comfortable. Communication with Sue was beyond okay. We really felt at ease at this home away from home.
Waking up and then walk right into the garden with the tree top view was a treat. When we visit Sheffield again some time we will definitely return.
Sue and Kate, thank you very much.
This was the most perfect place to stay and I will certainly recommend it and would indeed come back!! The furnishings were lovely, location was great. Lovely quiet neighbourhood and great communication and level of service from the host ! The shower struggled a little for 3 girls!! But we felt so welcomed and at ease for our stay...even including crumpets, butter, jam, milk and tea! :-) wonderful- thank you to sue and her daughter! X
Lovely little garden flat, perfect for anyone visiting the Ryegate Children's Centre which is only a few minutes drive away. Sue and her daughter were very welcoming and were happy to leave me to my own devices. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for somewhere to stay whilst working up in Sheffield or for those looking for a short break away. Thank you Sue.
Great place for a great price. Nice flat with everything needed, there were even great DVDs to watch and some food for breakfast provided by Sue. You can find shops and a nice local pub in the neighborhood within 5-minute walk range. You can get to the city center for just 7 pounds by taxi. Would recommend for everyone wanting to visit Sheffield.
About the Host, Sue
Teacher and resident of Sheffield for 22 years. Live with my daughter in the house above the flat. My son and partner live down the road. Chances are you will be greeted by a member of the family! Keen gardener, hill walker (so live in the right place - the city built on seven hills!), would be kayaker, enjoy swimming - outdoors preferably. Have airbnb'd the flat since Sep 13 and have enjoyed every moment of it.
