The cabins have it all including kitchenettes! Everything is of 5 star quality. The views are stunning. Delicious food, hiking, swimming in the river or pool. Hiking, horseback riding, coffee plantation tours, botanical tours, artistry and more.
We are a 60 acre farm with rolling pasture lands, coffee and fruit plantations, a river with three waterfalls and three huge swimming holes. Complete with patio, bar, wifi and swimming pool. Each cabin faces away from each other and are strategically located for views and privacy. The farm is located next to the largest international park in Central America. Located up in the clouds yet sunny and warm with cool breezes..the temps. and weather are much BETTER than at the beaches. No crowded tourism and all the fringe that goes with the tourism crowd. We are in a pristine part of the country and world in a very unique setting! Many stay in the cabins to write, create, relax, find adventure, vacation or to contemplate a move to CR.
Guests have access to their cabin, the pool, bar and patio area, river, pastures, coffee fields, internet, cable TV.
We give tours on the farm for our guests and if a guest is traveling alone, we eat meals with our guest if the individual guest is not cooking in the cabin for themselves.
The neighborhood we live in is an agrarian society filled with farms and a very rural setting. The backdrop is the Talamanca mountain range which is home to the La Amistad International Park, the largest park in Central America and a world heritage site. The park holds more biodiversity than any other park in Costa Rica and at least 5% of the world's biodiversity is in the La Amistad International Park.
To get to the farm there options to use public bus transportation, rent a car or hire a private driver. We can help you to arrange transportation. There is parking on the premises and near the cabins.
Be sure to bring, rain gear, mosquito repellent, sunscreen and other First Aid travel kit supplies.
Great place, wonderful weather, what southern hospitality is supposed to feel like! I would highly recommend a stay here with this laid-back atmosphere and comfortable accomodations. It was easy to refresh, relax, and rejuvinate all aspects of life. Whether you enjoy hiking and exploring or just laying around in a hammock reading, this place was great! Not recommended for those seeking the hustle and bustle of big-city life - you won't find that here, just Peace, Love, and Happiness.
Outstanding views, food, and, service. We had a very relaxing time. Highlights included hikes to a nearby waterfall and the La Amistad National Park, a chance to meet local artists, bird watching, and first rate organic food and coffee.
Bruce and Jennifer's place is worth finding. They take a very personal interest in their guests and go to great effort to accommodate special needs, even going so far as to adapt their menu to include gluten free options, and they did so with no advanced notice.
The views from the cabins are what you might wish for in your dreams, and simply seeing the swimming hole made us feel young again. We especially appreciated the quiet stillness that surrounded the property. It was easy to find inspiration to write and think. We didn't see anyone unless we wanted to, yet the cable TV and Internet worked well when we chose to plug back in.
This place is off the beaten path, but you feel as if you are getting a taste of Costa Rica that usually is not available to tourists, and the value is superior. From the gigantic umbrella and flashlight in the room to the daily maid service to the friendly vibe you experience with anyone you interact with, this place has it all.
We visited for two weeks in December and found the weather exceptional during this period, though I doubt there is any time of year that it wouldn't be a pleasure to be staying at Finca Lilo.
