About this listing
Years ago in the early 19th Century some people's homes had a room, typically with it's own separate entrance in which folks passing through had a comfortable place to rest for an evening or short stay. This room was known as the "traveler's room" or "traveler's quarters". Come and stay in the "travelers quarters" at Midlane Farm. Adjoined but separate from the main house your quarters is quiet and cozy, appointed with antiques including a 200 year old cannonball bed (don't worry it's sturdy), a small but efficient bathroom and a television. Relax on the back porch with an iced tea or julep and dream of days gone by, stroll the garden (organic) and grounds, cook from the garden if you wish in the modern main kitchen, sit and watch your favorite TV program or read a book in the "lower kitchen" (which some have deemed the best single room in the city of Louisville), enjoy complementary Bourbon or cocktails. The bar at Midlane Farm is always open and always well stocked! Hospitality would not be complete without towels, linens, and breakfast. If you need room for more than two no problem. You can stay in the main house and we'll move to the traveler's quarters! Please contact us first though to ensure that we don't have any conflicts. The main house (Midlane Farm 1820 Federal Home) can easily host six, but also rents individual rooms. Let us share our passion for the preservation of this "grand ole dame" with you. Sleep tight at your old Kentucky home. Good night.........
The Traveler's Quarters is your space. Common areas are the outside 2 acres, back porch, lower kitchen and main kitchen. Smoking is permitted outside only.
Another great stay with great people in a marvelous setting. Would always look forward to staying here again were the opportunity to arise! Highly recommend.
I booked the Traveller's Quarters as part of a surprise getaway for some friends. They absulutely loved their stay! They said the house was amazing and they felt so relaxed and welcomed by the hosts. They enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning of their stay and said they would absolutely recommend this place to others! Communication between me & Kim was quick and always helpful! An effortless transaction and a pleasant weekend for my friends.
I bookended a recent weekend with two one-night stays with Kim and Chas. It was just terrific. Such a warm welcome. Such great hospitality. And the setting exceeded my expectations. This place hosted by these wonderful people is what Airbnb is all about: New places and new friends!
Kim and Chas were extremely welcoming and friendly! Their home, including the travelers quarters, is beautiful. The location was excellent for everything my husband and I wanted to do in Louisville. Even though we were only stayed one evening, Kim and Chas made us feel like family with drinks, a warm and delicious breakfast, and answers to all of our questions about the area. I highly recommend staying at Midlane Farms to anyone staying in Louisville!
We had a great stay at Midlane Farm over the Labor Day weekend. It is located near Louisville and major highways which is a huge plus. Kim and Chaz are the best host that you can ask for. The room was cleaned and provided everything you needed for your stay. And last, my puppy really enjoyed the huge backyard. We will stay here again when we are back to visit Louisville.
Great host, awesome place. Quiet even though it is near a main road. Ample parking for vehicles. Breakfast was a great home cooked meal. I would recommend this travelers room to anyone coming to Louisville. This was my first airbnb stay, I hope all of my airbnb stays are this great.
They were able to accommodate us on short notice and were extremely polite despite our late evening arrival. Thanks for asking about dietary restrictions and offering is delicious whiskey! We would gladly stay again while driving through Kentucky!! Their home is beautiful, historic, and the room is private with its own external entry. Highly recommend Midlane Farm.
