Holemark Farm is twenty minutes by car from Tromsø city. The Old House is the heart of the farm. The athmosphere is warm and peaceful. The timberwalls give the house a special acoustic silence, and from the windows you can see the Northern Norwegian landscape and nature. Here, you will feel welcomed. And we are there for you.

The Old House and Holemark Farm is great for couples or a family with children.

The space
The Mountain called Little Blue Man (he's big and wide and fluffy in the winter) is just behind the farm. Great for randonee skiing in pure and perfect snow. And the sea and the lake is on the downside. We have a lot of space around us here. Our land is enormous. The sea and the lake is a part of the Bird Sanctuary, and hundreds of rare birds come visit us every year. The woods are twisty and fairytale-kind-of. You can light bonfires as you please and go into the woods as you want. Friluftsliv is a Norwegian term for Outdoor Life and Living. Find the silence and the solitude toghether with the spirit of the Nature.

Guest access
Around the house there's the farm life. You can join us when we go feeding the sheep. We like to share the feeling of life on the farm, especially for kids who might haven't met a sheep before. We have wood tracks and paths that will lead you around to nice places we have made for recreation.

Other things to note
The Northern Lights come from September and until the end of March. In the summertime we go fishing after halibut and cod and coalfish, trout and salmon. In the autumn we go hunting after moose (from 25th of September), and that's a nice expreience if you're there then. You can watch the slaughting process and maybe join us. And in the Spring (May) the lambs are born, and that is a very cosy time of the year. It is also very satisfying to climb up on the mountains in the summer, watching the Midnight Sun on the roof tops of the landscape.

We don't have any street lights, so that's very great for Moon Light photographing and "natural blue spa". Except for the ski track (single one, some km long) which is great for evening skiing if you're a little bit afraid of the dark. The neighbours are not close, we don't see much of them, because they are a bit away and it is very thick woods between us.

Five minutes by car you'll find Eide Handel, which has been nominated and got awards for their groceries and products. They are the best grocery store, we guarantee it! They like to keep it local. Eide Handel has also a side track with Whale Safaries. Go check it out! Really amazing with the whales.

Tromsø Lapland is renting our land for their Sami Experiences, with reindeer sledging and cultural evenings in the lavvu. Magical!

Tromsø Wilderness Center is also very close, and they offer dog sledging on the other side of the hillsides. Very cool!

In the city there are many good restaurants with really fresh ingredients all over. Like the fish dishes, reindeer meat and other ingredients from the Northern Norwegian Nature. We can mention Skarven, Fiskekompaniet, Emmas Drømmekjøkken and many more.

We love hunting, fishing and be outside in the nature. We love our family and pets, telling stories and be told, laughing, love and hobbies; carpenting, gardening, and our farm: working with the soil. We love practical jokes and vintage cars.
