Being minutes from downtown, the waterfront and UVM makes this an ideal spot for any traveler. The pillow top single in the private room assures a good nights sleep. The recently renovated shared bathroom has a shower and tub. Lots of sitting room in the living room or front porch.
I am more than happy to give you any recommendations on what to see, where to eat and the best local hangouts for an authentic experience in Burlington.
The old north end is named such because it was the northern point of Burlington until the 1950's when the "new" north end (suburb) was built. In the late 1800's North Street was the most happening part of town. Today, as a more affordable part of Burlington the neighborhoods are filled with young people and refugees from around the world (Burlington is a refugee resettlement location). The old north end is now filled with asian, african and Halal markets. The schools in this neighborhood speak over 35 languages.
CCTA ((website hidden)) bus depot is within a 10 minute walk. A bus stop to get you there is two houses away. Burlington is also a very walkable city as well as being fairly bike friendly. There is a waterfront bike path as well as a shorter path through wooded areas. The latter connects the old north end of Burlington to the new north end, with Ethan Allen Homestead and paths to the Intervale farmland. This bike path is 4/10ths of a mile away.
There are two indoor/outdoor cats that live here. Anyone with mild allergies should be fine (no carpet).
Wonderful comfy bed! Very clean & good location. Thanks July!!
Even though I didn't get to meet July, she had her very nice friend greet me and give me the lay of the land, explain any house rules. chocolate on my pillow, a water bottle on my bed table and extra blankets for the crazy weather I had while I stayed made me feel right at home! I didn't have a car so I walked everywhere and it was a very easy straight shot from all the shops. Would recommend to anyone, absolutely. May be back in the warmer weather, loved Burlington all around!
July was a friendly and helpful host and her house is gorgeous. The guest bedroom and bathroom were very comfortable and spotless, as is the entire house! The location was perfect for walking downtown to Church street; it took no more than 5 minutes to reach cafes, restaurants, etc. Highly recommended for a stay in Burlington.
Enjoyed both stay with July & Burlington VT.
I was in town for a two night stay during a weekend yoga retreat. July was really friendly and accommodating! Her house is lovely! Clean and cozy! a great location in relation to downtown nightlife and dining. And her cats are really sweet. I would recommend her to anyone!
I absolutely loved staying at July's house in Burlington. It was clean, comfortable, warm, and inviting. I left there feeling as if I had stayed with old friends, rather than with someone whom I had just met. Easily my favorite airbnb experience thus far!
This was a really comfortable place to stay, and July was gracious and accommodating. Highly recommended.
Had a very nice stay with July, while visiting with my daughter who is a student in Burlington. The house is clean and neat and very pleasant and the bed comfy. July was very helpful with recommendations for restaurants, and adjusting to my somewhat vague arrival time.
Staying with July was a pleasure. Sadly my work schedule didn't allow for much down time but July was a lovely host, very accommodating of my weird hours, and had a most inviting bed to come home to after a long day.
July was a great hostess!,Very friendly, helpful and nice, making me feel at home. My visit was a short one, but very pleasant. The house is absolutely charming and cozy, and my room and bathroom were just perfect. I highly recommend staying with July and wish her all the best.
