Being minutes from downtown, the waterfront and UVM makes this an ideal spot for any traveler. The pillow top single in the private room assures a good nights sleep. The recently renovated shared bathroom has a shower and tub. Lots of sitting room in the living room or front porch.
Interaction with Guests
I am more than happy to give you any recommendations on what to see, where to eat and the best local hangouts for an authentic experience in Burlington.
The old north end is named such because it was the northern point of Burlington until the 1950's when the "new" north end (suburb) was built. In the late 1800's North Street was the most happening part of town. Today, as a more affordable part of Burlington the neighborhoods are filled with young people and refugees from around the world (Burlington is a refugee resettlement location). The old north end is now filled with asian, african and Halal markets. The schools in this neighborhood speak over 35 languages.
CCTA ((website hidden)) bus depot is within a 10 minute walk. A bus stop to get you there is two houses away. Burlington is also a very walkable city as well as being fairly bike friendly. There is a waterfront bike path as well as a shorter path through wooded areas. The latter connects the old north end of Burlington to the new north end, with Ethan Allen Homestead and paths to the Intervale farmland. This bike path is 4/10ths of a mile away.
Other Things to Note
There are two indoor/outdoor cats that live here. Anyone with mild allergies should be fine (no carpet).
i was very comfortable staying at July's place. it is clean, neat, and her home has been well designed and i liked what she has done with it. it was easy access to town and i was able to get in and out of her home with ease.
Wonderful experience. J and her partner were wonderful hosts and provided me with some great recommendations for food. They know their town well and know how to make a guest feel welcome. Highly recommend.
This is a wonderful and welcoming home to stay in, and J is an exceptional host, very friendly, and can provide several recommendations to suit your needs.
The house is walking distance from the Church Street Marketplace, which reminded me of the shopping district in Oslo, then I learned from a sign posted there that it was inspired by the Strøget shopping area in Copenhagen. So the house is quite close to that with plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes, and shopping.
Radio Bean Coffeehouse is nearby on Winooski Avenue and has great live music and serves beer as well as coffee. Beautiful Lake Champlain is also very close.
My stay was towards the end of winter and the house stayed warm throughout, with reliable hot water and a cozy bed. It's also peaceful and quiet at night so you get a great night's sleep.
The most fun about this place is J herself, who is a treat to meet! I strongly recommend staying here.
Thank you J!
J was a warm and welcoming host, and I highly recommend this listing! She provided all kinds of information on things to do locally, the bed was super comfortable, and the house was in a good location. The house has all kinds of space to hang out as well. If you stay here, I just recommend being aware there's no kitchen access so prepare accordingly.
A lovely and comfortable home, and the room is perfect for one person. The bed is extremely comfortable, there's a nice cushy chair to sit in, the internet is fast, and J's home overall is warm, inviting and creative. The house is also close (about 5 blocks) from Church Street, the center of downtown. J was also easy to communicate with throughout the process.
Great space in a warm home! The bed was super comfortable, J was flexible and responsive in terms of arrival and departure. Convenient area, and a short walk from downtown. Would definitely recommend!

I love meeting new people and seeing new places. I am up for going anywhere, but tend to enjoy less traditional travel. I am a simple treehugger at heart, but have also been a fierce business owner. I love to cook, eat and dance. I enjoy mellow quiet time, but also love being the life of a party (though definitely past my partying years).
