Interaction with Guests
I am more than happy to give you any recommendations on what to see, where to eat and the best local hangouts for an authentic experience in Burlington.
The old north end is named such because it was the northern point of Burlington until the 1950's when the "new" north end (suburb) was built. In the late 1800's North Street was the most happening part of town. Today, as a more affordable part of Burlington the neighborhoods are filled with young people and refugees from around the world (Burlington is a refugee resettlement location). The old north end is now filled with asian, african and Halal markets. The schools in this neighborhood speak over 35 languages.
CCTA ((website hidden)) bus depot is within a 10 minute walk. A bus stop to get you there is two houses away. Burlington is also a very walkable city as well as being fairly bike friendly. There is a waterfront bike path as well as a shorter path through wooded areas. The latter connects the old north end of Burlington to the new north end, with Ethan Allen Homestead and paths to the Intervale farmland. This bike path is 4/10ths of a mile away.
Other Things to Note
There are two indoor/outdoor cats that live here. Anyone with mild allergies should be fine (no carpet).
Perfect place to stay. Within walking distance of anything you might want to see in town. I was in town for a conference so I was mainly just looking for a quiet place to sleep at night and that's exactly what I got. J was great and as all the other reviews have said, she has done a great job with the place.
The room was fantastic and the home was beautiful. The bathroom was furnished with organic products that were similar to what I normally use. Every time I travel I bring my own essentials and now knowing this, next time I will not need to.
The house was warm and inviting and J's two cats could not have been more friendly. I would highly recommend a stay here.
Very cool atmosphere in this home. She is so welcoming and helpful. House is in a convenient location also. I'd go back if I could
Jesse, J's partner, was our host, and made every effort to make us comfortable. He was friendly and happily listened to a vocal performance of my son. He also praised it. :) My sister had never done an airbnb before and was very pleasantly surprised. We rented the single and the master (my sister snores). Both rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. It really is only a ten minute walk to Church Street. Parking was easy. I have an allergy to Siamese cats and had no symptoms from J's two cats, who were also friendly.
My stay at J's house was wonderful. Although she was not there while I stayed, her partner was very helpful and accommodating. The room is just as described-cozy and it has a lovely gray checkered wall. I felt right at home here and J's partner gave me several great suggestions of places to go in the area, especially the farmer's market. I would definitely stay here again!
The place was great, very clean and close to downtown Burlington. J was welcoming and made communication very easy. I would definitely recommend J's place!
I stayed in July's room for about a week. Her house is lovely - seems newly remodeled - and centrally located to everything. She was very welcoming and was happy to answer my questions about Burlington. The rate is very reasonable considering how close you are to downtown and the waterfront. I would stay here again if I needed to plan another visit.

About the Host, J
I love meeting new people and seeing new places. I am up for going anywhere, but tend to enjoy less traditional travel. I am a simple treehugger at heart, but have also been a fierce business owner. I love to cook, eat and dance. I enjoy mellow quiet time, but also love being the life of a party (though definitely past my partying years).
