Being minutes from downtown, the waterfront and UVM makes this an ideal spot for any traveler. The pillow top single in the private room assures a good nights sleep. The recently renovated shared bathroom has a shower and tub. Lots of sitting room in the living room or front porch.
Interaction with Guests
I am more than happy to give you any recommendations on what to see, where to eat and the best local hangouts for an authentic experience in Burlington.
The old north end is named such because it was the northern point of Burlington until the 1950's when the "new" north end (suburb) was built. In the late 1800's North Street was the most happening part of town. Today, as a more affordable part of Burlington the neighborhoods are filled with young people and refugees from around the world (Burlington is a refugee resettlement location). The old north end is now filled with asian, african and Halal markets. The schools in this neighborhood speak over 35 languages.
CCTA ((website hidden)) bus depot is within a 10 minute walk. A bus stop to get you there is two houses away. Burlington is also a very walkable city as well as being fairly bike friendly. There is a waterfront bike path as well as a shorter path through wooded areas. The latter connects the old north end of Burlington to the new north end, with Ethan Allen Homestead and paths to the Intervale farmland. This bike path is 4/10ths of a mile away.
Other Things to Note
There are two indoor/outdoor cats that live here. Anyone with mild allergies should be fine (no carpet).
J was great -- easygoing, excited to share her wealth of knowledge about Burlington. She keeps a couple of cute, basic rooms for her guests. It's great for crashing and passing through. Very friendly cats, too!
July was a warm, cheerful, and straightforward host. She had a beautiful house, and the room was cozy and quiet. The house was very convenient to downtown Burlington. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was excellent! I will definitely keep this in mind for my next trip to Burlington.
This 3rd time I stay with Ms. Sanders. She always make me feel welcome. Her house is clean, neat and comfortable.
I felt so welcome in J's home and enjoyed my stay in Burlington immensely this week! I had everything I needed in the cozy little room, including a chocolate bar left on my pillow! The house is within walking distance to the hub of Burlington, and it was great to be able to walk everywhere I wanted and to be able to visit with J and her partner in the evenings.
It was great!!
A truly fantastic experience. A clean and spacious room in a beautiful house. Well-situated near Church street and access points outside of Burlington. J & J are really great people which made me feel even better about choosing to stay with them.
All wonderful. It was great to stay at J's. She wasn't in town, but I certainly felt her hospitality. By email & text she was very responsive, helpful and friendly. Her friend took care of the rest. It was exactly what I was looking for - a place I could feel at home at & get a good night's rest. The bedroom is exactly as shown in photo, but with a bureau & hanging space off to the right and a chair to the left. It is places like this that make AirBNB so great. I will definitely be returning the next time I am in the area.
Fun Burlington weekend visiting my son at UVM. J's house is a great place to stay if you want easy access to the town, UVM and other area colleges, etc. J was away for the weekend but she arranged for her uncle to be at the house, and I was welcomed by him. I stayed in the single bedroom, which was very comfortable and clean. There was a glass and a bottle of water in my room, along with a fair-trade chocolate bar, a lovely touch. The bathroom is modern with a great strong shower. There are two friendly cats in residence. Highly recommend J's house to Burlington visitors.

I love meeting new people and seeing new places. I am up for going anywhere, but tend to enjoy less traditional travel. I am a simple treehugger at heart, but have also been a fierce business owner. I love to cook, eat and dance. I enjoy mellow quiet time, but also love being the life of a party (though definitely past my partying years).
