Overall Guest Satisfaction

  • I had a great stay at Florence's apartment. The place is located just steps from Atlantic Avenue and a short walk to Barclays Center. This means you can immediately take advantage of everything Atlantic has to offer (excellent food, shopping) and get to Manhattan from the Barclays stop in less than 20 minutes. There is also a dive bar across the street called "Harry's Saloon" that I recommend. Florence was a fantastic host with great communication. Her place was better than the photos and her quirky cat was great company. In short, the spot is amazing and if you're lucky enough to find it free then book!

  • We had a great stay at Florence's studio during our visit to Brooklyn. It was super inviting and comfortable, with everything one needs to feel at home. Florence was also a super host and always responded back to our queries quickly! She left a detailed overview of restaurants and bars within walking distance. We will certainly stay again.

  • Florence was a very good host and I enjoyed my stay in her apartment. The place was clean and in a nice location in Brooklyn. Florence was keen to answer any questions and provided detailed information prior to the stay. I would definitely stay here again.

  • I highly recommend this apartment! Florence was very friendly and easy to get in touch with. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. I'd definitely stay there again!

  • Florence was great! The apartment was terrific, as advertised and in the best location. Such a short walk from Atlantic Ave. and all it has to offer. The kitty was cool and the book selection alone (Ecce Homo, collected poems of W.H. Auden, Nicholson Baker, etc.) almost tempted us to not wander the streets of Boerum Hills. But we did, and we hope to again. Thanks, Flo!

  • I so her kitty was a welcome addition to the trip. Sad I had to cut my trip short because of weather. Will definitely stay here again in the future. This is also an easy spot for catching trains to and from Manhattan, so Uou can take the bus or train in from out of town ans easily get there.

  • - The apartment is a masterwork of efficient interior design in a way that Florence's pictures do not adequately capture. She has made the most of a space that is small (although not small by NYC standards), turning a studio apartment into a warm welcoming space with an energetic modern rustic feel. It contains three times as much stuff as a studio apartment should, but never feels cluttered. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Florence personally, but have you ever walked around Brooklyn and thought "I wonder how all these artistic, well dressed intellectual types decorate their apartments/afford to drink this this much fancy coffee every day?" They decorate their apartments like this, and you probably should decorate your apartment like this too. I still don't know about the coffee.
    - Her cat is lovely, kind, friendly, and convinced me that I should get a cat of my own someday. If we didn't come into town with reservations and a schedule, we might have spent the whole time playing with the cat.
    - The location is great; an easy hop to anywhere in Brooklyn. Or Manhattan. Or Queens, I suppose via the G train. If you lose anything or arrive without any amenity, a mall with a larger Marshalls than the suburban one near me (plus a grocery store, etc.) is close by. So are any number of Brooklyn mainstay locations.
    - As much as I would love to turn this review into an ode to Florence's great apartment, I must discharge my fiduciary obligation to those who read this review and try to envision scenarios in which someone would NOT want to stay here:
    - You enjoy living in squalor rather than a nice, well decorated apartment. This apartment is not for you.
    - You don't like cats. This is a bad reason not to stay here. Just change your opinion about cats. This will be easy to do with Florence's tuxedo cat, who is lovely and basically a kitten in a larger cat's body.
    - You are allergic to cats. This is a better reason not to stay here.
    - You want to stay in Manhattan because you have to attend to matters uptown. Fair enough!
    - You want to stay in Manhattan because you have to attend to matters below 59th Street. This is a bad reason. You can get anywhere from Florence's apartment. Really, all but the most obscure subway lines come here.

  • Her place is kind of small but really cozy and comfortable. Her cat was cute :)
