The Space

Brooklyn, NY
Beautiful private room with full bath overlooking lush garden in Luxe Brownstone Tri-plex in great neighborhood.

Queen-sized bed in sunny, beautifully appointed private room of gorgeous newly renovated two-family house bordering Clinton Hill and Bed Stuy (Bedford Hill), an amazing neighborhood 30 minutes from Manhattan! Stay here and you will feel like a true New Yorker!

Room Amenities include:
Room air-conditioning, electric heat, hardwood floors, two full closets, bedside table, table for private dining, clean comfortable linens with plenty of pillows. We provide your own coffeemaker, stocked mini-fridge and microwave, Wifi, and more. Step into your full private luxury bathroom with spa bathtub and shower and mirrored vanity, with plenty of clean towels. Hair dryer and iron/ironing board upon request. Can also add twin bed to accommodate three, or if you prefer separate beds.

BOOMING NEIGHBORHOOD with many amenities, shops, bars and grocery stores. This multi-cultural area is the coolest neighborhood in New York now! Fun! GREAT FOOD! Half a block from Bedford Avenue’s new fantastic restaurant row of destination dining, making Do or Dine, Sud, Scratchbread, Dough, or Black Swan only steps away (please look up these restaurants - they are fantastic!). 1 block from NYC Bike share, so rent a bike and travel the neighborhood! It's a short bike ride to Clinton Hill, Fort Greene or Williamsburg shops and restaurants.

30 minutes via train to Manhattan, for Union Square, Chelsea Market, and the Village. 10 minute bus or bike ride to Williamsburg and Williamsburg Flea and Smorgasburg, restaurants, bars and clubs. 5 minute bus or bike ride to Fort Greene, Farmer's Market, Barclays Center, Target Shopping Center and more. Four blocks from the G train Bedford-Nostrand stop, 6 Blocks from the A express train at Nostrand Avenue. There is also ample street parking.

From JFK airport, you may take a taxi to the house, costing about $40.00 and take 20-30 minutes. From LaGuardia, about 35.00 and 15-20 minutes. You also could take the JFK Airtran to the A train to Nostrand Avenue. When you get off the train you will be on Nostrand Avenue and Fulton Street. Walk north on Nostrand Avenue (opposite of the way the cars are driving), about 8 blocks.

From LaGuardia, there is not an easy train or subway, so taxi is best.

Your hosts are on-site in another private part of the house. We hope you stay with us - We will help you with anything you need. We love living in this part of Brooklyn and we'd love to host you!

  • Stephanie was away the weekend I was there, but her sister, Suzanne greeted me warmly and oriented me to the private room with attached bathroom. It is on a second floor with a lovely view to the backyard which is green and lush. Birds were singing and it was quiet for the most part. One evening there was a party in a neighboring house with loud music, but that can't be helped. The room was clean, as was the bathroom, and it became my sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the city. I felt completely safe. There are many places to eat nearby in the up and coming neighborhood of Bed-Stuy. I would recommend staying here to anyone who would rather be away from the anonymity of hotel life, and stay in a home where you feel more a part of the community. Thanks so much for offering your home to travelers!

  • The stay was very comfortable at Stephanie's house. We needed an emergency place to stay, Stephanie contacts us past just a few minutes after the message was sent. The neighborhood is completely safe. It is thoroughly recommended!

  • We really enjoyed staying at Stephanie's - she provided a great light and airy space for us, with a lovely private bathroom, and even left coffee and snacks ready. This is a peaceful and quiet place to escape from after the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. We would definitely recommend the room to anyone coming to see NYC - there are lots of good places to eat in the vicinity and it's close to two metro lines.

  • Stephanie was a gracious and very helpful host, and the room is perfect, exactly as pictured, and incredibly quiet. It's upstairs and in the back, looking out (email hidden) backyard, no street noise at all. I never expected such a quiet room in the city. Very private, with its own bathroom, and both rooms quite separate from the rest of the house. Both bedroom and bath are super clean and comfortable. Bed very comfortable. Two big high windows, one with A/C. The bathroom was newly tiled and clean with a wonderful deep tub, plus shower. And even a hair dryer. The room was perfect, large enough for a queen bed, comfy chaise and a drop-leaf table with two chairs. Walls had beautiful family photos that made me wish I could have had a real visit with Stephanie and her family. My visit was just overnight for a conference, not the leisurely vacations others have described, so I didn't get the chance, and I think I really missed out. They've added lots of unexpected helpful touches, more than I could use in my short time-- microwave and a little fridge stocked with breakfast fare, bagels and OJ, plus coffee w/drip coffee pot; even yerba mate, mugs and cups and even wine glasses and corkscrew; plus a pile of books about NYC and Brooklyn and such, and a whole long list of nearby restaurants, pubs and cafes, each with personal annotated comments, and all within a few blocks' walk. Oh and super convenient to subway, for me it was a quick trip from Grand Central Terminal. I would definitely recommend Stephanie and her--yes, gorgeous private room and bath in Brooklyn to anyone wanting a quiet peaceful stay in NYC.
