Enjoy our beautiful garden and comfortable rooms. The suite includes a breakfast room and two bedrooms. It is one flight upstairs to a private bathroom. Our quiet neighborhood is a quick 10-minute walk to Pearl Street Mall and the Boulderado Hotel,
Our space is clean, private, spacious, and very comfortable. The suite contains one room with a queen bed plus and adjoining room with a full-sized futon (upgraded for comfort). The two rooms can be separated by a sliding shoji-screen wall. In addition to the two sleeping rooms, the suite contains a sunny breakfast room with a bistro table, small fridge, coffee maker, microwave and garden view. A variety of cereals (including gluten-free options), hard-boiled eggs, and coffee/tea will be available along with occasional seasonal offerings. You will have to be able to negotiate stairs because there are both outside steps and an internal staircase to reach the private (used ONLY by our guests) bathroom.
The BnB suite has it's own entrance at garden level--from street-level you will descend down multiple steps to the backyard entrance. Our guests are welcome to use the backyard garden/gazebo for eating, relaxing, socializing. The private bathroom (guest use exclusively) is the only part of the suite that is located upstairs in the host-part of the house. It is just a few feet from the top of the stairs and you will need to pass by our kitchen/living room to get there. We try to help our guests to feel a high-level of privacy and we use folding room-dividers at the top of the stairs to increase separation between our space and yours.
Interaction with Guests
We will be present during all stays in our home. We have lived in Boulder for over 30 years, know our way around, and are happy to interact or observe privacy at whatever level our guests desire.
Our neighborhood is quiet and tucked-away; even many long-time Boulderites don't know it is here, in the heart of downtown! Because we are so close to Pearl St. with it's many restaurants, Farmer's Market, and music venues, you can walk just about anywhere you want to go.
We live on a hill so coming home is always an uphill walk. To get to the SKIP or HOP buses (to take you to the University or Chautauqua Park) it is a 10-minute walk downhill to Broadway bus stops. We provide off-street parking in our driveway. Our location is considered one of the best in Boulder; you can get everywhere from here without a car!
Other Things to Note
While we do not allow guest-pets, a visit with us means that you will get to know sweet Caile ("kay-lee"), our 13 year-old golden retriever/chow mix. She is very mellow but definitely likes to meet and greet everyone who enters the house.
Ours is a quiet, non-smoking, drug-free home. We ask that you observe these limits while you are staying with us.
There are house-rules, along with additional information, posted in the breakfast room. Please take time to read these when you arrive. Thank you.
From the moment I made my reservation request, Laurie was responsive, considerate, and thorough. She made it clear that she was committed to making my stay as comfortable as possible. I felt this through every step of the process. I was looking for a peaceful and bright space and that is exactly what I found.
Laurie and Mark were wonderful - they were extremely accommodating with our late arrival (our flight was delayed causing us to arrive at their home at 4 am), the fridge and kitchenette were freshly stocked with breakfast foods, coffee, and tea, and the space was lovely. There were three of us staying in the suite, and there was plenty of room for all of us. Laurie and Mark made us feel very welcomed, even leaving us a personalized note on the chalkboard welcoming us into the suite. It was also a great location - an easy walk to Pearl Street and a quiet neighborhood. I would highly recommend staying here!
I can't recommend this apartment enough. The room(s) is fantastic - big, comfortable and spotlessly clean and Laurie is an incredibly kind and considerate host.
This was a great space and Laurie was the perfect host! Very friendly and helpful. Everything was set up perfectly to accommodate anything we might have needed. Fresh fruit, homemade granola, lovely flowers were just a few of the extras that made this stay amazing! We were within easy walking distance of Pearl Street, which was where the conference we attended was located. Thank you!
Laure & Mark's space is thoughtful. From the placement of tissues, furniture, coat rack, breakfast choice, this place is very nicely laid out. Their use of screens makes the upstairs bathroom feel like an extension of the downstairs space. It was perfect for me as everything was within walking distance. My only issue was outside of their control, I have AT&T and there wasn't much coverage when in the space.
Laurie is the most gracious host and the space is truly a sanctuary when I'm in Boulder. So grateful to have a nest to come back to.
Laurie gave me the warmest possible welcome and I felt right at home in the beautifully decorated, spotless and peaceful suite. It is very spacious and airy, yet so warm and cosy. You feel very special from the moment you step in with all little details taken care of and Laurie's thoughtful attention: every single thing you might need is provided for in the suite and the bathroom. from teas and coffee to additional comforters and even tooth brushes. Ladies, Laurie even put some eye make-up removal pads at our disposal! You'll get a very nice range of customized items for your breakfast. Laurie makes sure you get what you need/want occording to your dietary requirements. I toldl her I was a green tea drinker and I was surprised with at 5 or 6 different kind of green teas, which made my early morning rise a treat :-) The suite is lovely with just the right ammount of privacy and it opens onto a beautiful patio/garden. It is also a treat to walk back and forth to downtown through the great neighbourhood. I wish I had even more time to stroll around and enjoy Boulder"s beautiful fall days. Thanks a million Laurie for your awesome hospitality and thoughfulness. Hope I"ll be back soon :-)
