Margaret's apartment is clean and comfy, in a classic high-rise built in 1906 by the same architect that did the Woolworth building. Its on the eighth floor and you can see a bit of river and skyscrapers on the NJ side. The traffic hums on the big West street outside the window but it's not loud. Battery park and the Hudson river esplanade is just a 5 min walk away with greenery, sunsets and space to do sports or just relax. You can totally walk to Chinatown, Tribeca or Lower East side if you like moving your legs, just be advised you need to go around the construction and the commotion at Ground Zero as of 2014. Subway communications are very good, just make a 5 min hike over to Broadway and Wall Street.
The building is adjacent to the ground zero site itself. There's a souvenir shop at the bottom floor and lots of tourists streaming outside. They won't bother you while inside though.
The studio isn't big but should suffice for most people. Me and my girlfriend lived here with our toddler boy for a month and it felt a bit crammed after a while. Also it could have been better equipped for cooking and such things. Then again it was safe and modern, had no bugs or mice, had a micro, fast elevators. The area was kid friendly with lots of families.
Margaret was very nice and tried her best to accommodate our needs. We recommend staying at her fine establishment.
We enjoyed meeting Margaret and the Apartment was very convenient, as we were visiting family who lived literally round the corner.

I had a wonderful stay at Margaret's! The space was clean and cozy. Margaret was warm and welcoming. The building was located in a great, super convenient location. No issues with the heat (big plus for me since I like a warm apt in the winter). Overall it was a very pleasant and relaxing experience. Thank you again Margaret!
