The Space

****We have blocked the schedule for reservations at this time so that we may resolve some issues with our homeowner's insurance. Thank you for your understanding.****

If the main listing, Abbott Town Farmlet and Rooms, is booked, we may still have the library/media room available for another party.

This room is a quiet second floor room at the back of the house. It shares no common bedroom walls, so there is a real sense of privacy. The walls are lined with books and movies and there is a TV for viewing DVD's and videos. There are two chairs and a futon couch which can be made up into a full size bed for guests. There is a bit of floor space that could accommodate a small child, if needed, with a pack-n-play or a small mattress.

More pictures of the property are available at the main listing.

Guest Access

All guest access rooms are on the second floor. There is a main guest room, a library/media room which can also be made up for guests and a bathroom which is shared with our family.

Interaction with Guests

I am happy to answer questions about things to do and see in the "Happy Valley."

We also have two cats who enjoy attention but are not allowed in guest rooms and a Goldendoodle dog who spends all of her time on the first floor. She may announce your arrival with a friendly but deep bark!

The Neighborhood

If you've ever seen the movie "Back to the Future," the back-in-time town that Michael J. Fox visits is very much like our town.

Most of the town's business is handled within four blocks and includes an independent department store, the library, the Y, several independent coffee shops, several independent bookstores for new and used books, an independent gaming store, independent music stores, eclectic, artsy shops, a food cooperative, and interesting restaurants with a variety of cuisines.

All of this is within a six block walk of our home.

On the other hand, in just a short bike ride, within the "city" limits, we have working farms and pastoral scenery.

Getting around

Greenfield is slated to be an Amtrak stop this year! We will be on the "Vermonter" line with service to Montreal and south to D.C., with other connections possible through Amtrak hubs. And yes, the train station is just about six blocks from us!

This same transportation center is served by Peter Pan buses and our local regional transportation FRTA, which runs a regular but not terribly frequent schedule in the county.

  • I stayed with Kimberly for five days, four in the amazingly comfortable victorian queen bedroom and the last night in the library. She grinds the best coffee grounds for the morning cup and to sit in the easy chair with the cuppa was very appreciated. The house is in an excellent location, safe neighborhood, and near the downtown area and one of the main streets. I was on the go from 9 to 9 each day and the aura of welcoming each time I returned was very special. I even fell asleep in the easy chair one evening. The wooden floors are immaculate and begged for walking barefoot.

It was my pleasure to leave the magnificient sunflowers with her and to share the light of her smile.

  • I was so pleased with my stay with Kimberly @ Abbott TownFarmlet. The room was perfect for me, such a comfortable bed, warm blankets and nice and quiet. > A very pleasant neighborhood to stroll through, and so convenient to get too and very accessible to the village.and highway.....and Kimberly was very attentive to all needs... would definitely go back if I need to be in the area.

  • Kimberly is a great host. I am very picky when it comes to cleanliness of bathrooms and everything in her house was absolutely clean and tidy. She has two beautiful cats that I can not wait to see on my next stay there!
