Interaction with Guests
I'm frequently out working in the garden (watering, pruning, etc.), so we will have opportunities to see each other and chat there if you choose to.
Bus stop 50 meters from the front door. There are many Taxis throughout the neighborhood.
Small pets considered (please ask first). No smoking inside house, but you are welcome to smoke outdoors in the private garden.
a beautiful home and gardens within the heart of Albaicin. the apartment is well equipped and furnished simply and comfortably. our hosts made us feel welcome and at ease.
we loved our stay
Our stay in Granada was delightful. Isabela and Don made us feel so welcome and went out of their way giving us maps, detailed instructions
for the apartment, and making recommendations. The apartment is beautifully renovated but retains the ambience of days gone by. It exceeded our expectations and we are keen to return and stay for several weeks. The location was perfect and the views of the Alhambra from the hillside near the apartment were breathtakingly beautiful. Highly recommended.
Isabela's place is just as wonderful as you can imagine. It namely comprises two parts: a garden with a hundred year history is just like a mini royal garden:+), the apartment we stayed is well designed with elegant taste and details, and the kitchen is also well equipped with all cooking utensil. The most suprise to us in this special season is that we are encouraged by the couple to pick up figs from the trees to eat, and this is my first time to eat figs from the tree, fantastic!! Isabela's place is just like a miniature of granada which made us a more than happy experiences. Both Isabela and Don are very nice and friendly people, and we would like to stay there again in different season if we go back Granada.
Truly the most memorable hosts and properties we've had the pleasure to meet & visit. Don & Isabella are exceptional hosts & La Casita del Carmen is a storybook all it's own. Thank you for the chance to share it.
The place was more than described - it was wonderful - a real treasure !! Don and Isabella were efficient and most important, welcoming. A lovely couple and a wonderful place to stay. You really feel as though you are part of Granada in this hdden gem of a place.
Just a few minutes walk from the centre of the city but behind its walls a secret garden and place of relaxation and beauty - lovely and we will be back the first opprtunity we get.
Isabella and Don are wonderfully sweet hosts! The house is very close to Plaza San Miguel Bajo which has several small bites restaurants and one that opens for breakfast at 9am. They were so helpful by providing maps, a guide book that we borrowed and so much more! It was easy to walk to the Cathedral, the Royal Tombs, shops and more. You definitely want to take a taxi back after a long hot day of walking.
It's a quick walk to many wonderful fine dining restaurants as well. Las Estrellas del Mirador de San Miguel is a must!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! The house is wonderful and cool in the evenings when you open the windows. The gardens are beyond exquisite!! We ate breakfast and had cocktail hour most days during our stay under the gorgeous tall trees.
The day we went to El Alhambra we could see the house from the grounds!!!!
We highly recommend this wonderful Carmen (the historic name of houses with gardens/orchards).
Thank you Isabel and Don for a lovely time. We didn't want to leave!
When I booked La Casita, I was hoping to find a peaceful little haven, and the house and garden lived up to my expectations. Built in the Spanish style, the Little House has lovely features such as wooden floors, roof beams and "three layer" windows - shutters, glass doors and wooden doors. Furniture is both traditional and practical. The kitchen has all the modern conveniences. Hot water is available at any time, although with the temperatures reaching 40 degrees during the day, we often had cold showers. The bedroom upstairs has lovely colonial furniture. We had our teenage son with us, and he managed all right on the sofa bed downstairs, but I think this house is better for two people rather than three. The garden is nothing short of amazing. It is particularly magical at night. While it is shared with the kind and helpful owners, Isabela and Don, it feels very private because of the high walls. There is also a pretty terrace that is completely private: ideal for breakfasts in the cooler temperatures of the early morning. The location of the house, an annexe of a Carmen in the Albayzin, is ideal for sightseeing and just soaking up the atmosphere of the historic world heritage site. It is just around the corner from a square that features a number of good restaurants with outdoor seating. They are perfect for a meal in the open air after a long day of activities. A bus stop here has regular buses going to the city centre. Cruising taxis (look for the green Libre or "free" sign) can be easily hailed here as well. Possibly the best features of this house are its lovely owners who are always generous with their time and explain everything patiently. Isabela told us about Lorca's house, which we enjoyed visiting, and Don phoned for a taxi for us on the last morning so that we had it waiting for us as we emerged from the lane with our luggage. Highly recommended. Five stars.
