We are the only floor , together with the 17th floor, whose apartments have a terrace, leading from apartment, however this has now become a court yard, due to a new building having gone up next door.
Enjoy the views of this beautiful city, from pool deck and gym on 17th floor affording you 360 degree vistas of the entire city , Table mountain. Atlantic ocean and mountain ranges in the far horizon.

The neighborhood

The hip creative and design of Cape Town, loads of young people, many new and trendy spots, like pubs, restaurants, galleries, etc, to hangout.

The Mother City is pulling out all the stop, flashing her beauty and appeal to foreigners and gathering awards around the globe for her sublime tourist offerings.

Most recently, the 2015/2016 Telegraph Travel Awards chose Cape Town as the Best City in the World for the fourth year running, dusting out Vancouver and Venice, which took second and third place respectively in the Best City category.

In Condé Nast’s highly acclaimed Reader’s Choice Awards, the Mother City also took the top honours as the number one food city in the world!
Cape Town International airport has also recently named best airport in Africa and the best in the World for an airport catering for less than 10 mil pax per year.

Getting around

The central railway station is just five blocks away, connecting one to various points within the Cape Peninsula and MyCity bus system stops just 100 metres from the building. Taxis available all the time.
Underground parking bay available for use of guests within building at no extra charge.
Transfers from airport, if not hiring a car can be done by various companies. The MyCity bus system has a direct airport to city link every half an hour

The apartment is perfect and situated beside one of the best cafés in Cape Town. Jean was extremely accommodating and left excellent information regarding the workings of the apartment and places to visit in the area.

The location in the buitenkamp street is ideal to experience Cape Town. Jean was friendly and then respected the privacy. Safe parking, video and chip- controlled access to the floors.

This apartment offers an accommodating setting and superb location for exploring Cape Town's many treasures. The neighborhood has an urban, creative vibe with its great mix of locals and tourists. Many of Cape Town's best attractions, museums, restaurants, coffee shops and pubs are within easy walking distance. Jean is an incredibly gracious host and thoughtfully does the "little things" which can make a stay (in my case three months) more comfortable, such as personally delivering an extra quilt during a cold stretch of winter weather. The 24-hour building security is very good. As with any high-rise apartment building, you can expect more noise from neighbors than you would in a stand-alone property, so gauge your expectations accordingly if you are seeking a more reclusive place to stay.

Jean's Apartment is in a great location and the perfect spot for a Holiday in Cape Town. We had great time in this Apartment. Jean is a great host. He welcomed us with some sweeties and a bottle of wine. Communication as quick and easy. I would definitely recommend staying the Jean.

Jean is a friendly and helpful host. He met us On arrival and even went to the trouble of providing some fruit and a bottle of wine in the fridge. The apartment is in a convenient location not too far from the main part of the city. Bus stop is about 250m away. If you have a car, as we did, the secure parking area is a great bonus. Security is good, with remote key fob access and a permanently staffed reception desk. The apartment itself is small but functional and clean. The bedroom has ample storage and the queen size bed firm. Shower is a good size. The kitchen has all the necessary equipment and a new automatic washing machine. There is no a/c but fans available which we found adequate. There is a small t.v. but this only receives a few programs mostly in the local language. However a DVD and cd/radio is available. There are sliding doors which open onto the outside private space. Unfortunately, there is no view whatsoever from this area, as the carcass of a part completed and abandoned building towers over it just inches away from the rear boundary. The doors themselves are prone to rattling loudly whenever the wind blows. We found wedging folded cardboard in the gaps helped to solve this problem. Another annoyance is the inconsiderate behaviour of residents of the apartments directly above, who discard cigarette butts from their windows into the area. Jean told me that a fine was recently imposed on one but the problem seems to persist. Jean has now made available a portable WiFi modem which can be loaded with a data package if required. The rooftop area has stunning views of Cable mountain and the city, however, the gym equipment has definitely seen better days. The swimming pool is quite small but clean. If you are looking for a central secure base from which to explore the delights of Cape Town and are not seeking luxury, then this could be for you.

My boyfriend and I had a great experience in Jean's city bowl apartment. The location is excellent: a few restaurants and an awesome coffee shop within a block, and a 10-15 minute walk to the main business and bar areas. Jean was very helpful in providing information about the neighborhood, and in coordinating logistics of arrival and departure. The apartment deck is a bit annoying since there's no real view and people from the upper apartments drop their cigarettes on it. But the building rooftop is gorgeous, including the view from the gym. The gym itself is very limited in terms of machines, but was super convenient to have there to not have to worry about finding/paying for/traveling to somewhere else to exercise. Security in the building is consistent and the main hall lights and elevators still work during loadshedding. Jean is a friendly and generally responsive host, so don't be afraid to call or email him if you need something.
