Should you be looking for peace & quiet away from busy Kuta this is the place for you. Quite close Echo beach and Batu Bolong beach. Both great constant surf. The outdoor garden and pool are just phenomenal. Indoors very unique traditional built 1 bedroom. Internet is a bit temperamental but I used to European 50 mbps. Staff are super friendly and eager to help.
Very special and private place . Perfect for a couple or single traveler. Away from hustle of tourist hubs. Highly recommend.
Quick communication though some confusion as I had arranged a pickup from Ubud but then was instructed that I could get a taxi from Ubud. Villa is hard to find and if you have a smart phone with GPS be sure to load the map and take it with you to find it.
The room itself is beautiful though a bit rickety. Grounds are nice and the staff are friendly. The pool is across the driveway which was a bit of a bummer. Also the smell from the pig house next door can come in when you are at the pool and the noise can be a bit disturbing.
Lots of mozzies so use bugspray. The map in the villa is a bit unclear and if you need supplies there is a supermarket a few minutes walk down the road. The folder they give you could use a bit of organizing. The take away menus are mostly from fancy places selling pizza, pasta, etc. I like eating local food and found a warung a 15 minute walk down Puri Beringin. Right out of Gang Palm Raja, past Ketik Tepi Sawah Villas (there is a warung here but it is under construction) and it is on your right hand side. Small family owned joint with very tasty (and cheap) local food.
Also if you are heading to the airport just call a taxi. I was quoted 250K rupiah for the transfer but with a bluebird taxi and a diversion it was under 200k.
In short it was a pleasant stay, some oddities in communication but decent value for money. I probably won't return however as for this kind of stay if there is a 'private' pool I would prefer it to be closer to the villa and I have seen similar options with this in the same price bracket. Hopefully no pig house close to those either.
This accommodation is NOT AT ALL recommended! This was by far the WORST experience I had in Bali and especially to families, this place is a no go. Do not be fooled like me, reading the previous reviews and pics - the owner Morgan is not only unprofessional, but has zero value for a client. So this is what happened : We booked this place for 2 days, as we wanted to stay in an authentic place in Bali. We called Morgan on the day we were supposed to arrive, and left for the place. First things first, this place is like 25-40 mins from Kuta. It was tough for our driver to find the place and location, so we tried calling Morgan on the way. As per my records I called her more than 50 times before she bothered to call back or message. Left numerous messages and when she finally picked up, she gave the number of an indonasian speaking lady to speak to the driver. After an initial talk the second contacts number also got switched off. We were in a middle of nowhere with NO contact. We stopped at many villas asking this about this location, and finally reached this place. Morgan messages "the keys are under the table" - after searching the place for good 15 mins, I was not able to find the key. In a place swamped with mosquitoes, no light, no person there for guidance, and Morgan not picking up the phone (again). I messaged Morgan with pictures of the place that there was actually NO KEY there and received a reply. " Oh, Sorry about that". Thats it. No calls by her - nothing. By this time, this entire scenario was a 3 hour ordeal. Mind you, the taxi guy's meter was running, as I did not want to be stranded in an area where there are no taxis around. I was planning to leave for Kuta again, when she messaged me to wait for 5 mins. I thought, maybe she is on her way and to give it some more time. I was so wrong - She called up the owner of another villa in that area and asked them to take us in. It was already too late and I decided to check it out, as the people seemed very friendly. I stayed in Katak Tepi Sawah Villa for 2 nights as the service by them was exceptional! Those guys were professionals, friendly and went out of their way to help us at night. They were more apologetic about our situation than Morgan. Anyhow - Morgan made no attempts to apologize or call us, which tells a lot about how much customer service is important to her. The only thing good about this entire thing: I learnt an important lesson, on HOW NOT TO DO BUSINESS. And yeah, we could look inside the cottage from outside, and though we did not get to stay in it, it looked badly...
We went to the villa for our honeymoon in June and stayed here for 3 nights. The villa is exactly as shown in the pictures. Antique in its own ways and a piece of art. Morgan has definitely toiled hard in bringing it to the form that it exists today and definitely spends a substantial time in making everything work here. She has a little black book of all the secrets to this mystery land (basically contact no os all food delivery guys and spas and a handy map of the routes around the villa. She has also kept a cellphone with a local no. for our use. There are 2 helps in the house - Putu who cleans the outdoors and another lady who cleans the indoors. The pool is clean and the house is properly maintained with everything working fine.
While we could not meet Morgan, she had sent her relative Paul to meet us and guide us for our stay at Bali.
You can get a bike for daily rent and cab/taxi are also available. Although the location is very interior and you may not be able to call Blue bird taxis to this villa - better book a cab via Morgan. Also the security could be a concern at night because no one else stays after 4pm and you are left all to yourself. But I guess the place gets on to you once you start living there.
Overall, a good villa to spend long holidays and enjoy nature !
the room is exactly like the picture～but there is more darker ！The place is beautiful, the villa are really nice and comfirtable.
Enjoyed our stay here, never met Morgan but her cousin came to see us within half an hour of arriving and he was really helpful. Scooter was great, I'd recommend hiring that otherwise you will be a bit isolated.
The staff were great, very kind and helpful.
The Villa wasn't as private as we had hoped because the gardener is there most days (not all day). The pool does not get much sun so you can sunbathe around it as we had hoped but we did lay on the grass outside the hut which was nice.
