We had a great stay at Omi's Haus. The room was lovely, breakfast was delicious, and the hot tub was just perfect. We went to visit Niagara Falls but ended up spending as much time in downtown St. Catharines, which is less than 10 minutes from Omi's Haus and has a lot of restaurants.
I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay over the 3-day holiday weekend. Hilda and Rudy were great hosts and some of the most hospitable people I've ever met.
In addition the gourmet breakfasts every morning, (which included omlettes, bacon, quiche, crepes, pancakes, coffee, tea, and juice) Hilda provided us with clean towels as needed and much needed travel insights on local attractions like Niagara Falls and nearby wineries.
I stayed in the Wysteria room, which was located in the main house. It was very spacious and comfortably fit my two friends and myself. We were also enjoyed our own bathroom, located in the room and a kitchenette right outside our door (included fridge, microwave, sink and coffee maker).
My favorite part of the house was the arbor in the backyard. It was such a beautiful space to enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine. And the arbor matched the rest of the yard's earthy accents and made you feel like you were tucked away in a secret garden!
If you're looking for a cozy place to stay that's away from the Niagara tourists and in the heart of wine country, Omi's House is the place to go!
We (myself and 2 teenager children) only stayed with Hilda and Rudy for one night and we so wished we had booked for longer. Their home is utterly beautiful and we were given the warmest welcome. Our room was so beautiful with a gorgeous free standing roll top bath in the spacious bathroom. Nothing was to much trouble and we had a fantastic stay. The Jacuzzi and pool are fabulous. As if things could not get better....the breakfast has got to be the best we have ever had anywhere!!!!!! Hilda and Rudy cooked us pancakes, syrupy peaches, croissants, 3 types of homemade jam(amazing), bacon and fruit. Wow wee. Thank you Hilda and Rudy our stay with you was wonderful and we hope to come back to Canada one day and stay with you again.
We had a great experience at Omi's Haus. Hilda is warm and welcoming and she has made such a lovely and comfortable environment for her guests. We slept so well in the Wysteria room- great soft sheets, fluffy white towels in the bathroom (nice linens always much appreciated!) The claw foot tub is gorgeous and we took advantage of it. Perfect, as were the candles she and Rudy brought to us :) The grounds are kept so well, lovely lawn and plantings, great bird watching. So exciting to see cardinals up close! Hilda has made a gorgeous sanctuary of flora and fauna, it is no wonder the natural world beings flock there and are so very content. Rudy and Hilda also have three amazing sweet mellow and loving dogs. One feels immediately at home, but also one's privacy is respected. Great balance. Breakfast was also great, fresh fruits from the local farm and good coffee, quiche, etc. If you are in the St Catharine's area, I'd say this is the only place to stay! We had a tour of the other rooms too, and they also looked amazing, each with their own special character. They were also very helpful with tips, directions, etc. Great folks!
Hilda and Rudy were terrific, their place was wonderful and our experience memorable. We would highly recommend this space and loved hearing their ideas for the future. An amazing breakfast and incredible hospitality.

About the Host, Hilda & Rudy
Our home is our pride and joy and has been a part of our family for 38 years. We are happy grandparents of 8, although sometimes we cannot believe it, as we feel so young at heart! We enjoy gardening, bike rides, a game of scrabble and a glass of wine, so it's a good thing that we live in the Niagara region. We can't wait to meet you, and look forward to welcoming you to our home!
