Everything you need for a great stay in fabulous Park Slope, Brooklyn (and for visiting NYC) - My home is in New York City's very BEST neighborhood. Sleeps 6 plus - 2 queen size beds, 1 bunk bed (w 2 twin beds) & queen air bed. Eat in kitchen d/w, wifi, AC. Close to best NYC subways. The apartment is available anytime - I have a *completely separate* room for myself in the apartment (and do not share the bathroom, kitchen or living room w guests) so you will have absolute privacy!

The space

Enjoy the best of Park Slope, Brooklyn and all of NYC from our charming and affordable apartment! New airbnb regulations and laws for NYC still allow for the sharing of our home with you. We are often traveling so you will have the place to yourself for the dates you request. Sleeps Six plus. We have hosted countless happy guests from around the world. Travelers, grandparents, parents of college students, couples on romantic getaways and others are all welcome!

The apartment is furnished with a tasteful mix of old and new furniture. We've included everything you need to feel right at home. Please note the apartment is on the older side so it won't feel like a brand new hotel. There is some original woodwork around the windows that is lumpy :-), a quirky old built in cabinet in the kitchen, and a clean basic bathroom with no frills. The heat is great - old radiator, which do rattle on occasion. We recently added a dishwasher to the kitchen and a TV in the living room that has an Amazon FireStick (although sometimes the streaming is really really slow) and a DVD player (no cable or regular TV service). The exterior of the apartment is an older grey vinyl sided building - nothing pretty to look at, on a street of other similar buildings and newer apartment buildings. The main hallway is also nothing fancy - but once you are in the apartment you will feel right at home! I own the entire building so you will be able to use the hallway to store luggage, coats and boots, etc. We have a fantastic location, fully equipped kitchen, super comfortable beds, great natural light and tons of blankets and towels. We take pains to make sure the apartment is pest-free (so please take out your garbage regularly and use the outside cans - this helps a ton!) - a rarity in NYC!

We are located on the second floor of a corner building. The front door is located on the side of the building. One flight of stairs takes you to the apartment (although everything inside the front door is private to you). The windows in the two queen size bedrooms overlook 6th Ave, which is a quiet avenue but does have regular car traffic. Also, there is a very nice deli located below the apartment (super helpful for grocery shopping and a hot cup of coffee or breakfast sandwich). They do open their gate at approximately 7 am every morning and close it around 11:30 pm. This makes a noise you can hear in the two queen-size bedrooms that lasts about 20 seconds. Sometimes you can hear talking as people greet other shoppers outside the deli. I provide small fans throughout the apartment as I've found that guests from non-city locations sometimes appreciate the white noise (although again by Brooklyn standards this apartment is NOT noisy).

Located on one of Park Slope, Brooklyn's best South Slope blocks, the apartment is just steps away from every city attraction. Located on the corner of 16th St and 6th Ave it is near every convenience. It is on the second floor of a corner building. Downstairs a small deli can provide you with everything you need to eat as well as household supplies.

Our neighborhood is bordered by Gowanus, Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill, Prospect Heights, Windsor Terrace and Sunset Park. We are also minutes away from the Barclay center, the Atlantic Center Mall and the one of greatest areas to choose from all kinds of dining. We are also home to a great diversity of ethnic groups, which reflects the great spirit and character of New York City, the melting pot!

The apartment's features include a fully equipped eat-in kitchen w d/w, a great cozy living room, one full bathroom with tub and shower, two bedrooms with queen size beds (one is quite small - see photos - the bed takes up most of the room, but guests have been very happy with it), 1 bedroom with a bunk bed (this bedroom is tiny - see the photos - but great for fitting two extra guests), and a queen size air mattress that can be used in the living room. And the apt has wifi and AC. You control your own heat with a thermostat in the hallway so you'll never be chilly!

We are centrally located between the 7th and 5th Avenue shopping corridors. Thrift stores, book stores, natural food stores, etc. are all around you. Don't forget Prospect Park (Brooklyn's version of Central Park) is only 4 blocks away. And on Wed and Saturday the Park Slope Greenmarket brings local produce and agriculture right to our neck of the woods just a few blocks away. Sightseeing nearby includes Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Atlantic Avenue, which are all easily commutable via train or cab, even walking!

For those who are interested in visiting NYC, the subway is only 3 blocks away (R) where you can get into lower Manhattan within 12 minutes or Midtown in 25 minutes. The R train is literally less than a 5 minute walk and only a 2 station connection to the 2,3,4,5,N,R,B,D,Q (basically every train you'll need) train station. The F train is also only 7 blocks away.

However, truth be told with all the great neighborhoods to explore nearby - Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Prospect Heights, Fort Greene, etc., you may not ever want to leave BROOKLYN!

Barclays Center Brooklyn - Brooklyn Academy of Music - Grand Army Plaza - Brooklyn Public Library - New York Transit Museum - Brooklyn Museum - Prospect Park Zoo - Brooklyn Botanical Gardens - Brooklyn Heights Promenade - Brooklyn Cruise Terminal - St. Ann's Warehouse - Governors Island - Brooklyn Bridge - Fort Jay - Brooklyn Children's Museum

Brennan is a great host. She communicates very well in the lead up to your stay, which put me at ease a great deal. The apartment is exactly as described. We loved the area and felt very comfortable walking around at night. The comments about the deli opening and closing, did not bother us once. Thank you Brennan.

Great for a family or friend group! It's a lot quieter than I expected, but it's still close to the action in Brooklyn. The master bedroom is the best spot -- the other bedrooms are pretty small (the double bed fills the entire other room). The kitchen is pretty well-equipped, and we were able to make breakfast there one morning. Overall, great stay -- thanks for hosting us, Brennan!

The beds are so comfortable, the kitchen and living space great for our family and the main bedroom is beautiful. A nice quiet location with handy store downstairs. Restaurants and shops on 5th & 7th Ave really interesting and a never ending supply of great meals. Use Brennan's recommended list for a few good finds. Check out any running problems on the Subway before heading out as this makes a difference to which route you take. Travelling over to Williamsburg a challenge and taxi ended up being the best idea. Love Park Slope and walking up to the Museum and through the neighbourhood was great.

Brennan's place was better than described. Clean, well equipped, comfortable beds and living area. The location was perfect! Close to all major transit points, great restaurants and a convenient home base for our daily excursions. It was nice to come home to a family neighborhood after a long day in the city. The AC units did a great job of keeping up cool during the hot and muggy days/nights we had while there. I would definitely return should Brennan want up back. Thank you! Rick
