Master bedroom w queen bed (photo 2) - the two windows face the Ave so I provide a fan for white noise if you like although traffic on the avenue is pretty light for Brooklyn standards
Enjoy the best of Park Slope, Brooklyn and all of NYC from our charming and affordable apartment! Sleeps Six plus. We have hosted countless happy guests from around the world. Travelers, grandparents, parents of college students, couples on romantic getaways and others are all welcome!
The apartment is furnished with a tasteful mix of old and new furniture. We've included everything you need to feel right at home. Please note the apartment is on the older side so it won't feel like a brand new hotel. There is some original woodwork around the windows that is lumpy :-), a quirky old built in cabinet in the kitchen, and a clean basic bathroom with no frills. The heat is great - old radiator, which do rattle on occasion. We recently added a dishwasher to the kitchen and a TV in the living room that has an Amazon FireStick (although sometimes the streaming is really really slow) and a DVD player (no cable or regular TV service). The exterior of the apartment is an older grey vinyl sided building - nothing pretty to look at, on a street of other similar buildings and newer apartment buildings. The main hallway is also nothing fancy - but once you are in the apartment you will feel right at home! I own the entire building so you will be able to use the hallway to store luggage, coats and boots, etc. We have a fantastic location, fully equipped kitchen, super comfortable beds, great natural light and tons of blankets and towels. We take pains to make sure the apartment is pest-free (so please take out your garbage regularly and use the outside cans - this helps a ton!) - a rarity in NYC!
We are located on the second floor of a corner building. The front door is located on the side of the building. One flight of stairs takes you to the apartment (although everything inside the front door is private to you). The windows in the two queen size bedrooms overlook 6th Ave, which is a quiet avenue but does have regular car traffic. Also, there is a very nice deli located below the apartment (super helpful for grocery shopping and a hot cup of coffee or breakfast sandwich). They do open their gate at approximately 7 am every morning and close it around 11:30 pm. This makes a noise you can hear in the two queen-size bedrooms that lasts about 20 seconds. I provide small fans throughout the apartment as I've found that guests from non-city locations sometimes appreciate the white noise (although again by Brooklyn standards this apartment is NOT noisy).
Located on one of Park Slope, Brooklyn's best South Slope blocks, the apartment is just steps away from every city attraction. Located on the corner of 16th St and 6th Ave it is near every convenience. It is on the second floor of a corner building. Downstairs a small deli can provide you with everything you need to eat as well as household supplies.
Our neighborhood is bordered by Gowanus, Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill, Prospect Heights, Windsor Terrace and Sunset Park. We are also minutes away from the Barclay center, the Atlantic Center Mall and the one of greatest areas to choose from all kinds of dining. We are also home to a great diversity of ethnic groups, which reflects the great spirit and character of New York City, the melting pot!
The apartment's features include a fully equipped eat-in kitchen w d/w, a great cozy living room, one full bathroom with tub and shower, two bedrooms with queen size beds (one is quite small - see photos - the bed takes up most of the room, but guests have been very happy with it), 1 bedroom with a bunk bed (this bedroom is tiny - see the photos - but great for fitting two extra guests), and a queen size air mattress that can be used in the living room. And the apt has wifi and AC. You control your own heat with a thermostat in the hallway so you'll never be chilly!
We are centrally located between the 7th and 5th Avenue shopping corridors. Thrift stores, book stores, natural food stores, etc. are all around you. Don't forget Prospect Park (Brooklyn's version of Central Park) is only 4 blocks away. And on Wed and Saturday the Park Slope Greenmarket brings local produce and agriculture right to our neck of the woods just a few blocks away. Sightseeing nearby includes Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Atlantic Avenue, which are all easily commutable via train or cab, even walking!
For those who are interested in visiting NYC, the subway is only 3 blocks away (R) where you can get into lower Manhattan within 12 minutes or Midtown in 25 minutes. The R train is literally less than a 5 minute walk and only a 2 station connection to the 2,3,4,5,N,R,B,D,Q (basically every train you'll need) train station. The F train is also only 7 blocks away.
However, truth be told with all the great neighborhoods to explore nearby - Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Prospect Heights, Fort Greene, etc., you may not ever want to leave BROOKLYN!

Enjoy this new write-up of our neighborhood from Wikipedia by searching Park Slope Brooklyn New York.
Park Slope is one of the finest residential neighborhoods in the world. Filled with history, the Slope is anchored by the exquisite 585-acre Prospect Park, supported by a wonderful Library, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and the world-class Brooklyn Museum -- all within a 15-25 minute walk of our house. Park Slope is regularly listed in the top 5 neighborhoods in which to live in New York City. Now, Barclay's Center is just a stone's throw away, too, as are hundreds of great restaurants. Add to this that every major subway line passes through Park Slope. I don't know why anyone would live anywhere else or vacation in New York without making Park Slope their anchor. We love welcoming visitors to this fabulous neighborhood.
Park Slope is an exquisite neighborhood anchored by the Frederick Law Olmsted/Calvert Vaux Prospect Park. It is home to hundreds of brownstones and limestones in a neighborhood that regularly makes Top 10 lists of best urban places to live. Park Slope is on the National Register of Historic Places and has a beautiful Landmark Preservation District in the Center of Park Slope, an area that stretches from First to Tenth Streets. The apartment is located in what is called the South Slope where a mix of wood sided houses and vinyl clad Cindarellas are enjoying a revival as more and more people restore the houses to their original glory. There are also some interesting new modern apartment buildings that have sprung up. And a quick walk will take you to the heart of Brownstone Park Slope, which is a lovely area to explore.

We're also really close to the F, G, R, and M trains, making trips into Manhattan easy.
You'll see babies and aging men on the streets, just as you may encounter singers for the Metropolitan Opera practicing in the park or our two popular unicyclists.
