I'm an energetic semi-retired educator. I myself like to travel, so I'm participating in AirBnB in order to supplement my own travel budget. I'm a people-person so I look forward to welcoming visitors.
Guests may park in my driveway. During the day you may also park on the street, but not overnight. Once you have checked-in and have the key to the front door--you may come and go as you wish. You will enter into my living room, turn right immediately and go up the stairs. Room and private bath are on second floor.
Interaction with Guests
Usually brief chats--depending on the guest's schedule and mine.
I also speak French --and will soon get around to translating this listing.
Quiet, tree-lined streets. Nice neighbors. Easy access to downtown via city streets, also easy routes to expressways. Guests may park on street during day, but please pull into my driveway overnite.
Our public transit company is TARC. There is decent service to my area during the day--not so great in the evening. A cab ride from the Airport to my house is usually about $25 plus tip.
Other Things to Note
My rate varies somewhat by season--$50 or $55 per night Sunday thru Friday, $60 for Saturday nights. More during Derby. Airbnb adds its booking fee.
If you turn on the air-conditioning, kindly close the windows.
Double-check that appliances have been turned off. Don't forget your own phone charger!
Turn in key as instructed when you depart.
Great stay. Harriette is so friendly. The room is on the second floor, clean and quiet. Everything you need from a hotel is provided.
Harriette was very welcoming and flexible with my crazy schedule the day of check-in. The room was very large and nicely appointed and the neighborhood was lovely. Harriette and I had a little time to chat and she also offered me breakfast the next morning. Delighted to find a great place to stay when I visit Louisville!
The picture of the suite does not do it justice...the feng shui is absolutely delightful and soothing!!!
The area is very safe and beautiful!
The cost of the suite is a fraction of what you would find in a five star hotel!!
And Harriette is truly a gracious hostess!
FIVE STARS ALL AROUND...location, cost, & comfort!!!!
Harriette is the sweetest host!
Her gorgeous (!!) home is super well situated in an area with lots of shops and restaurants. The room itself is beautifully decorated and very large. It has its own thermostat, which was great! I tend to like it a little cooler. We also took advantage of the many tour brochures and magazines she had. We carried two of them with us our whole trip and we even took a cavern tour based on one of the brochures! Also, Harriette offered us breakfast in the morning, which was something we've never had in an Airbnb experience. We loved it!
The bathroom was incredibly nice and clean. It was really nice having our own private bath.
The only minor thing was that the bed is incredibly uncomfortable. (Firm doesn't quite describe it!) I am 7 months pregnant, so that was a little tricky on my aches and pains, but we made it work by adding extra blankets underneath us for padding.
The overall experience was fantastic. We would highly recommend her beautiful home!
Harriet first communicated with us via email and text, and was helpful with directions and our arrival time. She welcomed us upon arrival and was warm and friendly. Very kind and welcoming. Her home is lovely. As is the neighborhood. Quiet. Yet close to everything. The room was exactly how it is pictured. Very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was the same. We could not have asked for anything more. Harriet, and her home, are just perfect!
Comfortable homely stay with an awesome host. Our sincere thanks to Harriette for making our Kentucky Derby experience live up to all our expectations . We would highly recommend anyone to stay with Harriette in this beautiful part of Kentucky - there is a new restaurant/bar a short walking distance from her home which is very good also.
