This happy, sunshiny room is a mere three blocks from the beach complete with incredible Southern CA sunsets :-). It's got a dedicated parking space, and a private bathroom. It's a share, so it also comes with ME! (Lucky you - ha, ha)

The Space

Hi there, I have a happy sunshiny room to rent that comes with a private (fully stocked) bathroom, and a FREE PARKING SPACE!

Having recently moved to Santa Monica from Scotland, I can tell you that it's a great place to visit! If you want to stay 3 blocks from the beach, and 3 blocks from the 3rd Street Promenade then this is the place for you. Montana Avenue is also a great place to find shops, cafes, and any amenities you would need. I know LA is all about driving, but I walk everywhere! As a newcomer to Santa Monica myself I'm just beginning to explore the place so we can compare notes. You're also only minutes away from Venice and Malibu - two of my favorite places to hang out.

Walk to the 3rd Street Promenade, the Santa Monica Pier, hang out in Palisades Park to watch the sunset, or take a run on the Ocean Front Walk. There are loads of restaurants, movie theaters, shops, yoga studios, Whole Foods, and cafes within a few blocks of my apartment. Enjoy Santa Monica's world famous farmers market Wednesday and Saturday. Or walk down to Main Street on the Ocean Front Walk and hit the shops. This location is ideal if you ask me - that's why I live here!

In the event that you do have a car I also have a dedicated gated parking space for you - this may not sound like much, but in Santa Monica free parking is like gold.... :-)

This is an apartment share -you have your own bedroom with TV + Smart Blu Ray Player, Wifi, Coffee Table, and your own private bath. currently I work from home, but that could change at any moment.

As a note - just to manage expectations - I don't provide breakfast (or any meals at all :-)) but the kitchen is fair game, and there is always coffee and most of the time some fresh fruit. Other than that feel free to use the kitchen to prepare your own food.

Guest Access

All guests have their own bedroom and bathroom... and you have access to the main living area as well as the kitchen. The only place off limits is my bedroom and bathroom :-)

Interaction with Guests

I work from home - this might be a 'con' for you because I am here a lot. I promise to leave you to your day, however, I am here to provide any service you need. And we might even make friends!

Getting around

Santa Monica is totally walkable... 3 blocks from the beach (you have to go down the stairs and over the bridge but it's a straight shot) 3 blocks from 3rd street promenade, and right on Montana. There are also bike rentals in the area, and I walk to Venice on a regular basis on the beach path

  • Christina's place was great. The location was awesome, and it had everything I needed. It's a very nice room, 3 blocks from the beach, and a short walk from the 3rd Street Promenade. I couldn't ask for more!

  • We spent 2 nights at Christina's lovely place. She is a very friendly host and the room was exactly as described. The flat is perfectly located close to the beach and a short stroll to all the happenings of Santa Monica. The indoor parking space was a great plus. I highly recommend to stay at Christina's place to anyone looking for great location in Santa Monica.

  • Great location, nice room! Christina was friendly but kept to herself, as did we. Everything was very clean and decorated nicely. Would definitely stay again. Our only issue was with parking. I drive an Xterra which was too high to fit in the garage. Any truck, SUV, or minivan would probably also have issues fitting. The clearance of the garage should have been disclosed in the description as the free parking space was one of the deciding factors for us. I (very luckily) found a parking spot a block away but otherwise it would have been a major issue.

  • Christina was very welcoming and allowed us to be flexible with our check in time to suit our plans. Christina's flat is lovely, in a great spot in Santa Monica, minutes from the beach and great cafe's and shops. The room itself has everything you need, she provided beach towels as well as towels, some toiletries and little chocolates. The private bathroom was also really nice. Christina provided some good tips for places to go and was very helpful. I'd certainly recommend staying with Christina if visiting Los Angeles.

  • We stayed at Christinas' s place for two nights. Her apartment is located in a good area just 3 blocks from the beach and 20 minutes walking from the Santa Monica Pier. Her apartment is so cozy that we felt at home. The bedroom was comfortable and clean as well as the bathroom. It's not an ensuite, but there is a private bathroom for the guests next door to the bedroom. Christina has a really good mood and she was always ready to help us. We enjoyed our staying there.

  • Christina was such a lovely host. The location of her place is conveniently located near downtown Santa Monica, the pier and the beach...easy access to everything. Parking is easy, the room was immaculate and I enjoyed the way her place was decorated. Great value, highly recommend.

  • I stayed with Christina on my first visit to the US. I had traveled all the way from Norway without a real plan, and had therefore not booked in advance. But Christina var super cool and let me stay on short notice. She is an interior designer and you can really tell. The apartment is beautifully decorated and furnished, and she has a few designer classics like the Mies' Barcelona chair and a couple of Eames' DAW replicas. The bedroom room was nice, clean and quiet, and the bed was comfortable. She provided sheets and towels and offered me to borrow a beach towel as well, even though I did not take her up on the offer. There was even a small chocolate on the towel stack on the bed when I arrived. The day I checked out she also let me store my luggage for a few hours after checkout time.

About
I'm an American interior designer/television host recently relocated from Glasgow back to the US. The place I currently hang my hat is sunny Santa Monica CA . My hobbies include: sailing, yoga, working out, film/TV, and of course travel. As a newcomer to LA I can honestly say I was more than pleasantly surprised at how friendly and easy going the city is. Beach living is simply the best, and I've taken full advantage of it 3 blocks from the water in Santa Monica.
