Hi there, I have a happy sunshiny room to rent that comes with a private (fully stocked) bathroom, and a FREE PARKING SPACE!
Having recently moved to Santa Monica from Scotland, I can tell you that it's a great place to visit! If you want to stay 3 blocks from the beach, and 3 blocks from the 3rd Street Promenade then this is the place for you. Montana Avenue is also a great place to find shops, cafes, and any amenities you would need. I know LA is all about driving, but I walk everywhere! As a newcomer to Santa Monica myself I'm just beginning to explore the place so we can compare notes. You're also only minutes away from Venice and Malibu - two of my favorite places to hang out.
Walk to the 3rd Street Promenade, the Santa Monica Pier, hang out in Palisades Park to watch the sunset, or take a run on the Ocean Front Walk. There are loads of restaurants, movie theaters, shops, yoga studios, Whole Foods, and cafes within a few blocks of my apartment. Enjoy Santa Monica's world famous farmers market Wednesday and Saturday. Or walk down to Main Street on the Ocean Front Walk and hit the shops. This location is ideal if you ask me - that's why I live here!
In the event that you do have a car I also have a dedicated gated parking space for you - this may not sound like much, but in Santa Monica free parking is like gold.... :-)
This is an apartment share -you have your own bedroom with TV + Smart Blu Ray Player, Wifi, Coffee Table, and your own private bath. currently I work from home, but that could change at any moment.
As a note - just to manage expectations - I don't provide breakfast (or any meals at all :-)) but the kitchen is fair game, and there is always coffee and most of the time some fresh fruit. Other than that feel free to use the kitchen to prepare your own food.
All guests have their own bedroom and bathroom... and you have access to the main living area as well as the kitchen. The only place off limits is my bedroom and bathroom :-)
I work from home - this might be a 'con' for you because I am here a lot. I promise to leave you to your day, however, I am here to provide any service you need. And we might even make friends!
Santa Monica is totally walkable... 3 blocks from the beach (you have to go down the stairs and over the bridge but it's a straight shot) 3 blocks from 3rd street promenade, and right on Montana. There are also bike rentals in the area, and I walk to Venice on a regular basis on the beach path
Christina was an amazing host. She made arrangements to allow me to stay at an extreme last minute situation. While, I only saw her the first night upon arrival, she is a gracious host and the place was just as described! The garage parking spot is great, as once you park you can walk anywhere in town and get to the beach within a matter of minutes. I highly recommend staying at Christina's during your stay in Santa Monica.
Would really recommend a stay in Christina's apartment! It's a super nice place in a great location very close to the beach!
If you don't have a car you can do like me and rent a bike and easily get around Santa Monica, Venice and even go on a bike ride out to Malibu.
Christina's has a great eye for detail and just being welcomed with towels, soap and candy on the bed was such a nice touch.
Christina was a wonderful host who was welcoming and accommodating! She showed me a great hike in the area. Her place is in a perfect location close to the beach and a short walk to stores. The room was exactly as advertised and parking was a breeze (amazing to have a parking spot in Santa Monica!) I would definitely return this place is a gem for the location, price and parking and a great host. Thanks Christina!
My first stay in LA was at Christinas place in Santa Monica. I spent 8 days, which is a long time in one spot and I had a great stay with Christina.
The location is great, close to the beach and PCH, a nice walk over to 3rd street, and if you like to stretch your legs a bit (as i do), head up to the 16th and Montana area for another fab area of cafe's and shops.
The place is clean with plenty of space.
Loved LA - i will be back :)
Christina is a great host. The room is bright, beautifully decorated and exactly as advertised. For a single person, or a couple, it's a just right. The apartment is on a quiet street but close enough to the beach and to downtown Santa Monica (about a 10-20 minute walk to downtown or the beach. Though if you've never been to Santa Monica: the beach requires a walk down a staircase and across a bridge over a roadway. The famous Santa Monica pier can be reached a quick jog or a leisurely walk of just over a mile along Palisades Park). Christina provided suggestions for activities nearby and was extremely accomodating to my much-changing schedule. Would definitely stay here again next time I'm in the Los Angeles area.
The Room and the flat in general is exactly like in the pics.
Christina was very nice but we did not have the change to talk much. We did not use much the kitchen or anything else of the flat beside the room and the bathroom.
In general my experience was very positive. I think I prefer to have my own space, but if you do not mind sharing a flat and you want something with great dec in Santa Monica, defiantly it is a great option. The flat is very close to the beach, but you need to go down the hill to arrive and the pier is like 20-30 min walk away. I think a car is a good option and there is free parking.
Christina is a totally gracious and accommodating host! Her apt was perfectly situated for my LA business itinerary, had a private bath and most importantly, a parking space!
I would happily stay with her on my next trip!
Christina's place is exactly as advertised. About 1 minute to the beach. Close enough to all of Santa Monica to walk anywhere, far enough away to be quiet at night. She is a great host, very nice person, and everything was spotlessly clean. It is a waste of time to keep looking.
We are so pleased that we chose to stay at Christina's for a few days over winter break. Her apartment was very clean and stylish and the location really is ideal---just a lovely walk down to the beach and the shops and restaurants.
The free and convenient parking spot is a definite plus to consider as we did not see many available parking spots around the area during our walks.
Christina is a very thoughtful, organized, friendly, and laid-back host who we would definitely stay with again.
We highly recommend staying here for a wonderful stay in Santa Monica.
This apartment was fantastic! Can't beat the location -- walking distance to most places of interest. The apartment itself was comfortable, very clean and pleasant. Christina is an ideal host -- well organized, thoughtful, and friendly. The bedroom and bathroom were just fine. Light and cheerful, roomy, comfortable bed, closet to hang clothes. There was a little noise from the street below (the apartment is in the front, on a somewhat busy street, but not like what you'd have in the heart of downtown). Thank you Christina!
