About this listing

The Farmhouse at Woodshill Homestead is the original site of the Wilcox family estate in the Mohawk Valley, Upstate New York. Locals often identify it as "the big white barn by the pond.” It is a comfortable and relaxing retreat, situated amid 88 acres of field and forest.

The space

Woodshill Homestead is located 10 minutes from Utica, 15 minutes from Hamilton College, and an hour from Old Forge in the Adirondacks.

Among the unique qualities that Woodshill Homestead offers is a 5,000 square foot English style barn -- the perfect space for creatives of all kind to work and find inspiration. New windows look east over the sunrise.

Guest access

Guests will have access to the entire home, including the fields, forest and pasture. The setting is ideal for sunset strolls and all variety of outdoor activity. The Farmhouse’s newly-renovated interior matches its gorgeous rustic environs with quintessential upstate elegance and comfort.

What a beautifully decorated farmhouse! Lots of room to gather, fix meals and plenty of sleeping areas. Everything was clean, and the wine and banana bread were a welcome treat. We came to go to Cooperstown on the Hall of Fame Weekend. It is about a 40 minute drive through picturesque country roads. Lots of stores and restaurants in New Hartford, only a ten minute drive. I would love to come back in the Fall to see the magnificent colors.

Upon arrival, we found a perfectly moist loaf of banana bread along with a bottle of wine. The kitchen was perfect for hosting, and rooms laid out and decorated nicely. The land, animals and barn are perfect if you have kids or animals. The host were accomadating to allowing us to bring our two children who are four legged dogs. I hope to return as long as Andrew and Mary allow it.

This was perfect, great rural setting, ten minute drive to the Masonic Campus in Utica. T-Bone the donkey rocks! One thing to note if you are arriving after dark, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps has you turn on to Mallory Street when you need to stay straight. Nothing Andrew can do about this other than let future guests know. The house has everything you need just show up and enjoy!

Andrew is a great host. There was a fresh loaf of zucchini bread waiting for us and it was delicious!

We loved our stay at the Wilcox Farmhouse and only wish we could have stayed longer! Andrew and Mary were wonderful to deal with and prompt to respond to any questions we had. The house is exactly as pictured, clean and comfortable. The zucchini bread was delicious and we were so grateful to have extra items in the house like eggs and coffee to make our stay that much more welcoming. What a great location also... New Haven and Utica are so close with so much to do. Our kids got to enjoy the trampoline park nearby which they can't do near our home. The beds were very comfortable and the farm animals were a joy to watch from the beautiful kitchen windows. Thank you!
