About this listing
Our sleeping accommodation comprises of of three bedrooms, two of which have their own private en-suite with shower. There is also a third communal bathroom. In total we can accommodate up to 6 people, plus a cot if required.
We have two reception rooms for our guests to unwind in. The Parlour is a traditional country-style reception room, complete with stone walls and exposed beam ceiling. You can play a board-game or two in front of the wood-burning stove, or simply snuggle up on a comfy couch with a book from our dresser! The second reception room is called the Sunroom with good reason. With large windows on three sides, this room enjoys the sun all day long and well into the evening. The Sunroom is a dining room /living room and boasts a high wood-paneled ceiling, wood-burning stove and original stone wall. You can also access to our sun-deck from here.
You will have use of the entire house and grounds for the duration of your stay. Ample parking is provided.
We are easily contactable via email / phone and will be in touch with potential guests before and after booking. We are located in Dublin so there may be the odd occasion where a neighbour will meet our guests on our behalf.
Barntown is a quiet and tranquil country setting, yet only a short drive to all the great amenities the sunny South East of Ireland has to offer. Located just 5 kilometres from Wexford town and just off the N11 and N25, we are an ideal base for exploring this historic area.
Although only 5 KM from Wexford town and easily accessible by taxi, we would highly recommend your own transport, there's ample parking available.
We are set in over an acre of grounds and are located on the Three Rocks Hiking Trail.
We want you to enjoy our lovely home as if it was your own, but would ask you to leave it as you found it.
Unfortunately we don't allow pets or smoking on our premises!
No parties, anti-social, threatening behaviour.
We arrived to find Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits as well as some non alcoholic apple cider in the fridge.
The farmhouse is very well equipped for everything a family needs. Very comfortable and very close to Wexford town and all the restaurants and bars. Lots of useful information/suggestions of things to do in the local area. Unfortunately it rained quite a lot while we were there ( I would suggest taking umbrellas, when visiting Ireland) so were unable to sit outside in the lovely garden and enjoy it. An ideal place for kids with the garden swing and play area.
Would definitely go back. Ideal for larger families
Our stay at Hillbrook lived up to expectation. Description on web page is accurate. A very nice house in a peaceful location, spacious, clean, well equipped. Great outdoor space. A short drive into Wexford. Welcoming fire in sitting room on arrival a nice touch. Hosts were very helpful and easy to contact. We look forward to our next opportunity to stay in Hillbrook.
After a week in Dublin we needed a respite and Hillbrook farm was perfect! The location was great - although you do need a car to get into town and to nearby sights of interest. Everything, including the coast is within easy driving distance. The farmhouse itself was clean and comfortable and the setting was lovely. Eoin and Sharon left detailed instructions on how everything in the house worked as will as suggestions on nearby walks and amenities. Their neighbor Mary Doyle met us and showed us around and later delivered homemade scones. We only took up one floor - but this house has room for a family with young children or several friends. If you ever want to find your roots or visit Ireland and be just under a two hour drive from Dublin into the countryside this is the place!
Eoin and Sharon's place is great. Contacting them was easy and they were extremely helpful while arranging the stay and during the stay too.
I can't recommend the place enough. It's literally five minutes into town, and just a couple of minutes to the nearest shop.
If you're looking for a place in Wexford then this should be the place you choose. Fantastic
