BAND ROOM NOISE NOTE: Peace and Quiet are very important to our guests. The public room (BAND ROOM) is only used for playing music when a GROUP occupies all the rooms and the music is for their entertainment. When the rooms are occupied by INDIVIDUALS that are unknown to each other music can only be played with the mutual consent of all INDIVIDUALS and thus is not very likely. As a matter of fact it has never happened.

SkyHouse is known locally as "The Crown Jewel". When the original owners of this ranch became elderly they gradually sold off lots for custom homes. They saved this property, believing one of their girls would build a home on the property. Therefore the street are named after their girls Carol, Nina, Elsie Mae and Daisy. All of the girls married men from out of town and moved away.

The views from your deck are like no other. Red tail hawks soar and hunt in the updraft in front of you. Deer, raccoon, possum, hummingbirds and owls all pass through the property.

"...Thank you so much for allowing people the opportunity to experience the lifestyle and breathtaking natural views. We had so much fun and was a much needed relaxation for me. I absolutely loved the rocking chair and color scheme of the room! Your kind hospitality also added comfort to the overall magical experience. Thank you so much. We are now looking for a place to live along highway 9, Hehe! We love you guys so much. Take care. Till next time."

There is the Santa Cruz Metro bus through the San Lorenzo Valley if you are not coming by car. You go to the bottom of the hill and to HWY 9 to catch the bus. The buses have bike racks on the back.

REMODEL NOTE: Construction is finished. In the spring of 2015 we completed a two year long major interior and exterior remodel.
This is a Non Smoking house. If you smoke you have to go far enough from the house and downwind so that your smoke doesn't bother others. We have a smoking area with chairs in the garden.
Beautiful place. We were the only ones there and it was delightful. Would be a great place to rent out the whole house with a big group. Hosts were such a delight. It was a great stay.
SkyHouse B&B was amazing! Although we got there really late, Bob the property manager had already prepped the hot tub for us to enjoy. This property has one breathtaking view. The amenities were top notch! I would come back here again.
um, not really a fan of this place and we definitely wouldn't return! for the money, i have stayed at MANY places waaaaaaaay nicer than this!! lets start with the positives: the location is simply lovely (nearby town is pretty cute... you are close to big basin, etc) and the vista breathtaking-- no complaints there! the accommodation itself and way in which this place is run leaves much to be desired! i.e. the hot tub (which is why we paid top dollar to stay in this particular room AND a #1 reason we selected this particular place!) was HALF full *and* COLD upon arrival~ so completely **nonfunctional** on the first night. we had to locate a hose, manually fill the tub and then wait until the next AM (as several hours while out to dinner only allowed for a few degrees increase in warmth...) the "b&b owners" were completely unresponsive to my VM re: the issue. i mean literally no text OR phone call back acknowledging my concerns the entire stay... until it was time to check out, of course, which they proceeded to remind me via text that i was running an hour late on their stated "check out time" (which was not listed anywhere in the room orientation booklet, mind you!) oh, and in case you wanted a PRIVATE hot tub experience/were going to leave your swimsuit at home... do note that there are near constant neighbors renting similarly small rooms walking by (day and night)! this place is clearly NOT a quaint bed & breakfast in a pastoral setting, per description-- it is a money-making effort, nothing more... and don't get me started on the optical illusion of a "wood-burning stove," cheap soap products and inedible "faux" food products (think: non-organic, costco, really terrible quality coffee, etc) that they provide as "amenities.." ugh. all completely unacceptable for the price point-- if you are looking for a relaxing weekend getaway, save yourself some aggravation and stay somewhere else!
This place was the perfect getaway for some peace + quiet! There was a fully stocked mini-bar in the fridge along with a complimentary bottle of wine, one of the most incredible showers I've had the pleasure of using, a REALLY comfortable bed with cozy duvet, and when I awoke the next morning, a view of the fog lifting over the mountains. The hot tub with view of the night sky was a real treat as well.
SkyHouse Tea Garden was absolutely perfect for a quick and quiet getaway. Stunning views from the expansive balcony, private jacuzzi, and bedroom window. Updated fixtures, furniture, and beautiful bathroom with amenities. My boyfriend and I made use of the music room, driving range, ping pong, and short drive to the main town for Chinese food. We will definitely return! I suggest taking advantage of the scenic drive and arriving before sunset! We will definitely return!
Truly amazing place in Santa Cruz mountains - fantastic views, very private, your own hot tub overlooking the valley. Everything's top notch. David and Susan were very responsive and always available. Would love to come back again when the rest of the property is finished. Good luck with the project.

About the Host, Susan & David
Susan born and raised in San Francisco. David from a small town in the Northeast on the border of Canada. Susan and David met for the first time February 22, 1999 at The Bach Dynamite and Dancing Society in Half Moon Bay. The meeting was arranged via (email hidden) (now (website hidden)). David selflessly taught Susan how to play bass guitar which pretty much guaranteed that there would be a band room wherever they live. We have a complete band room in our Boulder Creek house that includes: drums, percussion, microphones, PA, guitars, bass, keyboards, etc. that we make available to guests (currently under construction). We thought about downsizing for a nano-second but need the entire house for family weekends.
