The Space

THE HOUSE

Two bedrooms only for single in an apartment of 80sqm.
Each room has a French bed and the apartment has a bathroom whit shower, kitchen and a and a very Baroque style living room (where I sleep when I'm in Rome).

There is also an area with a coffee table in front of the kitchen, where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner.
In this space in addition to the electric oven there is a microwave oven.

In the house there isn't s free Wi-fi, but there's a Mac computer always connected whit Internet by a free key in the dining room. And you can use whenever you want.

There is a washing machine and ironing board.

Every week there is a cleaning lady.

The apartament is located in the center of Rome, Testaccio neighborhood.

The neighborhood is one of the oldest in Rome
full of nightclubs and restaurants at reasonable prices.

My house it's from early '900 and in the backyard there is the shop of the most famous patisserie in the neighborhood. If you get up at sunrise can get down and eat a fabulous and fresh croissant stuffed with cream or fresh whipped cream!

I live in the house and I am a smoker, but I smoke just in my room). You w'll have your set of key, can use kitchen and (of course) bathroom, weekly cleanin is included.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The Testaccio neighborhood is easily accessible by bus and underground and you can make a walk to Trastevere
and Piazza Venezia in 15 minutes.

The neighborhood is inhabited only by the Roman people
from many generations and the restaurants are famous
for their local cuisine. The pizza's restaurants make
a delicious pizza very cheap.

Testaccio is the center of the nightlife in Rome,
there are a movie theater with three rooms
and excellent programming, two theaters,
Nightclubs and Pubs to dance, lissen live music and drink, all located in the nearby Monte Testaccio.

At Mattatoio there is a new Museum of Modern Art: MACRO. The Macro it's installed in a former slaughterhouse, and it's really interesting to see the "Pelanda" and the other rooms.

SHOPPING IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Clothes shops are very chic and refined, but there is also a famous market, which sells brand name shoes Euros 30/35 for pair.

On Sunday, crossing the bridge over the Tiber river,
there is Porta Portese. The most famous and largest
outdoor market in Rome, where you can find clothes,
shoes, furniture, whatever you're looking for.

  • I had an Amazing Experience overall in Rome. Martina's apartment is beautiful. It was clean and very organized. She was an amazing host. The location was very good because it is in testaccio. I Chose this location because i wanted to be near the Circus maximus and Trastevre. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to stay in Rome. Thank you Martina.

  • Staying at Martina's apartment was great. It is located very close to the beautiful trastevere area across the river. Martina made sure to be at the apartment, even though my flight and bus were delayed getting to her apartment. When I got there, she had prepared delicious pesto pasta which was perfect after a long morning of travel. Could not have been happier with the stay.

    June 2014
  • Martina was such a lovely host. Her apartment is beautiful and unique with lots of open air. The neighborhood is not "noisy" at all, and the only sounds are those of Italian passers-by and the silence of the night. Peaceful and relaxing, for sure!

    June 2014
  • Martina was a truly helpful and friendly host, absolutely lovely person. The apartment was beautiful and clean and the neighbourhood conveniently within walking distance to everything. Can warmly recommend this <3

    June 2014
  • Martina is a very gracious host and her apartment is ideally situated in the best neighborhood in Rome (Testaccio!) I whole-heartedly recommend her apartment.

    May 2014
  • The apartment is beautiful, there's so much attention to details! The location is great, close to the bus stop and only 10 minutes away from the subway station. It's also very close to Porta S. Paolo and Piramide di Caio Cestio, there's a park close by, and a lot of little shops around.
I missed my train so I had to change my check in time and Martina was very understanding. She also gave me very clear and easy directions to get to the apartment. I didn't get to meet Martina because she had another obligation, but Daniel was very accommodating and helpful.
I would definitely recommend this place if you're going to Rome.

    Response from Martina:

Ciao Dima thank you very much. See you the next time

    May 2014
  • I very much enjoyed my stay in Martina's apt. The apt is really nice in a historic Roman building that has the added luxury of an elevator. The room is very spacious and has a wonderful balcony...couldn't have asked for better! Testaccio is a great real Roman neighborhood, away from the insanity of the touristy areas, but very close to all of the major sights. And it's close to the Piramide metro stop and several bus stops, which makes it very easy for getting around.

  • My favorite area in Rom: Testaccio! Famous for it´s good food and a very nice place to live. No tourists at all, safe and family friendly.
You´ll find the best reataurantes here! I will definitely come back!
Check out MACRO Museeum and Market, just around the corner. Inspiring and relaxing!
Martina is a very nice host - always kind and helpfull. She has plenty of insider tips and a very beautiful flat.
    Felt like at home.

    Grazie mille, Martina!
    Saluti!

  • I had a wonderful time at Vacanze Romane! Grazie mille Martina!!! Vedo l'ora di rivederti!!

    May 2014
  • I had a lovely time staying at Martina's flat. I choose her place due to the lovely decoration of the flat, with the antics furniture,I fell in Love with it, I had to stay there. The location of the flat is perfect, to walk to amazing neighborhood such as Testaccio and Trastevere. And the plus, for the poetry lover, your are near the Roman non-catholic cemetery, where the English poets, Keats and Shelley are buried. And probably many more wonders that I couldn't see. I really enjoy having a chat with Martina after each of my escapade around Rome, and all her little tips and advices, and to see that she love her city, and that she really appreciate your point of view and thoughts about what you've discovered. I really like the fact that she advise me some book to read about Rome, so I can no more about this wonderful city and country.
I will definitively be back !
Thank you so much for your hospitality Martina.

    Response from Martina:

Carissima amica, thank you very much for your nice private message. I think you will love the leopard novel, and you have to know that Luchino Visconti, the famous movie player, directed a fantastic movie from the novel with Burt Lancaster, Alain Delon, and Claudia Cardinale that is considered a masterpiece around the world. The Italian title is il gattopardo. I hope that you will watch it because it's absolutely amazing. A big hug from Rome and come back soon. Martina
