This luxurious garden villa is truly a unique find! When I built this villa, I wanted to draw upon the woodcarving and painting expertise of my fellow village members, and so I decorated it with original Balinese art, hand-made furniture, and detailed architecture (in many cases I utilized reclaimed, recycled wood). The villa is surrounded by exquisite green garden walls, offering privacy yet a feeling of lush garden serenity.
The kitchen, dining and living room are combined into a single spacious area and are surrounded by sliding and folding glass doors that allow for open living or an enclosed air conditioned space. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, oven, refrigerator, blender, coffee maker, toaster, etc….There is bar seating for four and the dining table seats six. The living room offers a couch, lounge and a flat screen cable television. There are also a number of places for lounging outside – on the deck, under the garden bale, or on the loungers next to the natural stone pool.
The large master bedroom offers a super king size bed, additional couch and table, tv with cable television, plentiful closet space and a luxury en suite bathroom. A second bedroom has two twin beds that can be combined into a king bed, a smaller desk area and couch seating (a small child can sleep on the couch in either bedroom). A second garden bathroom can be accessed via a door out the bedroom or through the folding glass doors surrounding the living room and kitchen area. Both bedrooms offer fan and air conditioner. We also have a safety deposit box.
The villa is located amongst rice paddies on a village road in a quiet setting, yet is only a few minutes drive from the cultural center of Ubud. You can also take your time and walk into town to really get a sense of the area and the daily life of the Balinese. The villa's position to the south of Ubud makes it easy to take day trips to the beaches in Sanur, Seminyak, or Kuta without any of the traffic of town. Each day the local priest’s wife places offerings in and around the property to bring a good spirit and great smells to the area. The local banjar (community meeting place) is just a short walk down the road, and one can sometimes hear the faint sounds of the village gamelan practicing as the sun (email hidden) is magical! Many of my family and friends are mask-makers, wood carvers, musicians and dancers, and I am happy to introduce those wishing to learn some of the Balinese arts.
The property shares a parking area and fully trained team staff with three other villas on site. The price includes daily maid service, linens and towels, wireless internet, cable television, daily breakfast, and a one-time (drop and pickup) shuttle to and from Ubud center.
Airport transfer, driver to other attractions, massage, private yoga classes, traditional Balinese meals (made by the most renowned cook in the village, my mom!), laundry, rental cellphone, rental motorbike, and babysitting can be arranged for an additional fee.
Babycots/cribs and car seats also available for no charge.
Being Balinese myself, I am always open to speak with guests about Bali's rich culture and religion, and can offer tips about unique things to see and do. The Ubud area offers a number of great performances, the monkey forest, and exquisite temples, and I am happy to inform guests of authentic ceremonies and celebrations happening during their stay.

Oka was a phenomenal host. I felt like family from the beginning of my stay. His properties are absolutely amazing and unique in every way possible. Oka and his staff will make sure that you are beyond comfortable and relaxed by handling every detail of your stay in ubud. I had to be at class at 7 am every morning and the girls made sure that my breakfast was on the table at 6:30am. I rented 2 other properties in ubud from different owners, but neither compared to my stay at Oka's property.
My friends and I stayed in this villa owned by Oka and had an amazing experience. Oka himself was very generous - he took the time to show us around the property and Ubud itself and was more than happy to talk about Bali life and culture - most other places we stayed, the hosts were not that interactive. He introduced us to fellow ex-pats, giving us a much richer understanding of the culture and a few connections as well.
The staff was as sweet, friendly, attentive and helpful as can be.
The villa itself is gorgeous with a large master bedroom and a smaller second room and a beautiful common living/kitchen/dining area. The décor is amazing - not surprising considering Oka's artistic background. The facilities are modern and up-to-date.
I have no hesitation recommending this to others!
The villa is absolutely beautiful, looks just like they do in the photos. Me and my friends had an amazing couple of days staying at the villa .
Pak Oka is a fantastic host, deliberately making time from his busy schedule to catch up with us and made sure we had everything we needed. The staff were also very helpful to make us feel at home, sometimes going out of their way to help us.
I am definitely looking forward to returning soon and spending more time here.
Our stay with Oka well exceed our expectations! From airport pick up to our final goodbye we were very well looked after by Oka and his wonderful staff.
The rooms are as lovely as they seem, with plenty of privacy and good care. Housekeeping is impeccable, lovely women come in to cook breakfast from an extensive menu at our desired time, drinks when ever we needed them, fresh coconuts chopped up, great pool. More than we expected. The staff are delightful, funny, friendly, spoke good english (and taught us some Balinese) and are totally trustworthy. Oka is wonderful to talk with about Bali, culture, language and spiritual practice and very well connected, especially around Ubud. He was very generous with his time and knowledge and we felt grateful to have had the opportunity to meet him.
I would highly recommend anyone stay here and we often commented on how much better it was than any hotel stay we had
experienced in Bali. It is a quick trip to Ubud central (15 min max) and great to get out of it to a more tranquil space. For so many reasons this is great accommodation - if it is not booked out - book it!
It was my first experience with Airbnb and it was nothing but pleasant. Pak Oka was a wonderful host and he made my friends and I feel very welcomed and at home. The condition of the villa was superb and clean. It was a no surprise that the villa was tastefully decorated as Pak Oka himself is a designer. He built and designed the villa himself. As a designer myself, I am blessed to have crossed path with Pak Oka as he is such an inspirational man. His passion, and visions have impacted my friends and I in more ways than one.
The services provided were top notch. We were very well taken care of. I always look forward to our breakfast spread everyday as Pak Oka always make sure we have our fill. We always have our preferences asked the night before and they never fail to deliver and impress.
I had a wonderful stay here and I definitely will be back in the future. My friends and I were lucky enough to experience a true Balinese gathering when Pak Oka had a small ceremony for one of his new villa openings.
All in all, I highly recommend this listing.
