  • Our experience staying at Mandy's house was fantastic! My family stayed there for one week while I was attending a conference at the convention center in San Diego. It worked great while I was gone my family played at the amazing Wind and Sea beach. She was very helpful with directions and was very honest in her assessment that there would be no problems commuting back and forth which I found to be true. Her house was clean with very detailed instructions to assist us in San Diego. It was very easy to visit all of the most popular attractions in and around San Diego. I would recommend her house to anyone.

  • Mandy's place in La Jolla is great. It's got a nice floor plan, two bedrooms and bathrooms, and a little patio with a grill. And it's close to the beach! We loved it, and Mandy was a great host. She left us tips on local restaurants and activities and everything was clean upon our arrival.

The only slight issue was the noise, which I'm not sure there's much to do about. The street was louder than expected and the walls are a bit thin; we heard a lot of car alarms and sirens. It's also bottom floor unit so we also heard the person above us walked around/hammering something late one night.

Overall it's really a great place though and the noise didn't detract much from our stay. We'd definitely do it again and Mandy was a great host.

  • Sweet home, low key, comfortably tasteful. Good bed. Kitchen good for breakfasts and easy meals. It's a small apartment but inside feels like a beach house with big open tile-floor living room opening onto enclosed patio with wood fire -- good for having a few guests over. Owners were accommodating, easy to access. The exterior of the apartment building is unprepossessing, but inside felt like home, and it is close to wonderful walks through La Jolla neighborhoods and beaches. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. Thank you, Mandy!

  • We were a little disappointed with our stay in La Jolla. I should say we have vacationed extensively by renting houses in the past. When in CA we enjoy relaxing at the beach and coming “home” to throw a quick meal together. First, we were not aware that this place was actually their home, thus unprepared to find the fridge half full and no place to unpack clothes as the dresser was filled w/ owner’s personal belongings and the closets locked. It wasn’t disclosed they own a dog. The house itself is a triplex and you will hear people moving around upstairs. Mandy neglected to leave the garage opener so we didn’t have access to bikes, a board, etc. The biggie was that the place wasn’t as clean as we would’ve expected. In closing, we are not saying not to rent it but rather that full awareness may avert any disappointment. The place is conveniently located in the beautiful La Jolla.

    Response from Mandy:

To clarify, we only rent our home out when we are not there (on vacation). You and your guests will have access to the entire home, including 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Our home is well-lived in and we some leave things around in hopes of enhancing your visit - magazines, toiletries, clean
linens, food condiments, etc. You will never be bothered by our dog, he stays with friends when our home is rented.

  • It was delightful to enter such a comfy, clean, spacious home in La Jolla. The house, outdoor patio, and neighborhood was perfect! We were hoping that our friends from LA could come visit us while we were on the west coast, and asked our hosts if our friends could stay one night in the second room. They graciously made up the extra bed for them and left plenty of towels. Mandy wrote a nice welcoming note with tips of where to go and what we could use (bikes, beach chairs, etc) and most importantly their cell phone numbers in case we needed them. The location was great since we were within walking distance of the cove and all the wonderful restaurants, shops and activities in La Jolla. One day we even took a bus on the corner to downtown San Diego. We also liked that we had wi fi and netflix available to us, and their bed was really comfortable! Mandy even texted us to make sure we had no trouble getting home with the upcoming hurricane, and said that if we needed to stay longer we could work something out. We would highly recommend this spot for a relaxed visit.

  • The place was great, one and a half blocks from the beach and had everything one might need. Mandy is super friendly and laid back; I would love to stay there again next time I'm in La Jolla.

  • This is a great home with a lot of comfort and personality. Two blocks from the beach, a couple of minutes from everywhere you want to be. We have a 7 and 3-year-old and the second bedroom was perfect for them. The pictures accurately represent the home, and most of the places we looked for in San Diego were twice the price and half as good. Mandy and Devin were great hosts. Kind and thoughtful people.
