Great location , idyllic views , John was quick in addressing any questions .
It's really a fantastic view here. Like the Oia so much. The sun set is so beautiful.
John's house was even more beautiful than it looks in the pictures. You truly get the Santorini experience having to climb down to the cave home on the best side of the island. He also had all of our transportation set up upon our arrival. It was a great experience and I highly recommend this listing.
As arranged I phoned John once we had collected our rental car from the airport and made my way to the post office at Oia.
John then sent his housekeeper Nadia to meet us, she was friendly and helped with our bags to the room.
The room was exactly as described at the bottom of 124 steps with a beautiful view of the caldera from the terrace.
The terrace area is shared with the room next door, however there is plenty of room with 4 chairs, two loungers and two tables.
The sunset view is at the end of Oia which is only a few minutes walk, this is a must do!
We had a fantastic time here and would book again if planing strip to Oia.
The place was fantastic and spacious and the view was perfect. The deck was shared with the unit beside but overall, privacy in general was good.
John was very helpful and although we were unable to meet him, we were met by a nice local woman who helped bring us to the place and helped clean up before we settled in. John was also helpful in arranging for airport transfers and answering our questions.
I would recommend to pack light as the place is about 100 or so steps from the main walking street.
Wifi worked great and so did the other appliances. The only appliance that could possibly be added was a washer/dryer (but I could see that it might not really be necessary) and a microwave (to reheat any leftovers).
Excellent location with unbeatable views! Yes it is quite a bit of steps to walk but trust me it is totally worth it. Lovely decorated cave house, very spacious, amenities are basic but sufficient. The famous Oia castle sunset spot very close by. The famous blue domes also just right above the house. Bus station and mini market less than 10mins walk away. I did not get to meet john but he was super responsive via chat. Overall very happy with my stay :)
Really loved this cave house! It was just as it appears in the photos. We arrived here late at night from the airport and the housekeeper met us at the main road and took us down to Goddess to get us situated. John was available by phone to provide directions to a restaurant. When we woke up in the morning and stepped out on the balcony it was honestly breathtaking. We both just kept saying I can't believe this is real. There are no other homes below this cave house so there is a feeling of total privacy to it. It also was nicely shielded from the wind and got great sunlight during the day. About 100 step climb up to the main road. Definitely a little rough on the calf muscles but worth it. Spot to watch sunset was about a 10-15 minute walk. We loved Oia. It was very charming and definitely less touristy than Thira. There is a bus that cost 2 euro to Thira from the main square of town. Cave house was clean and well-equipped. There was a hair dryer, wine opener, instant coffee, basic kitchen essentials, Lonely Planet guide book. We made a promise that we will definitely be back to stay at Goddess again! One clarification is that the balcony has an adjoining one next door. There is no separation between the two but there are clearly designated areas so it didn't bother us at all.
