Cosy room in a colourful, quiet and central apartment in Sagrada Familia neighborhood. Very well connected by public transportation and a short walk away from many major city attractions. Couple of smiling and polite hosts included! ;-)

The Space

The apartment is in a 1950's building that is in mint condition and we are in the process of renovating the apartment too. We are trying to maintain the original spirit with a twist: we love colour! And have I mentioned that you can see the Sagrada Familia from our living room? ; )

By the way, the apartment can hold up to five people in two rooms, this one being the two person room.
The bed is double size (135cm) and has got a mahogany head that has belonged to Jaume's family for more than one hundred years (it's a modernist antique). We painted the room and bought a new mattress in April 2013.

This room is ideal for short stays, either for one person or a couple with little luggage. If you have a lot of luggage or want a more spacious room you might want to check out room A1 (link below).

Guest Access

In our apartment you will enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, wi-fi connection and we also supply sheets and towels. You are also free to use the living room.

We’ll provide you with a set of keys (building and apartment’s) so you can be completely independent and come and go as you wish. The only limitation is that noise is to be kept to a minimum after 22h (we have thin walls and elderly neighbours and it is also a Barcelona city ordinance).

Interaction with Guests

We love talking about our different countries and customs. We think, it’s a beautiful way of learning about this wonderful world we live in. And since we love our city, giving advice about what to see and where to go is second nature to us. Depending on your tastes we will recommend you touristic places or the ones we locals enjoy. We live in the apartment too, so we'll be able to help you with anything else that you need.

The Neighborhood

In our neighborhood we have many different supermarkets and a lot of bakeries and restaurants (all kinds of cuisine, fast food included!). There’s also this little cafeteria right next door where you can have a very good Catalan lunch (Esther is such a good cook!) for an extremely reasonable price. And if you want to cook at home, we have a public market just around the corner and a fantastic fruits & vegetables shop where you can buy directly from the farmer (absolutely recommended !!!).

On top of that, right outside our building you have Sagrada Familia, Sant Pau Hospital, Encants Vells market, Passeig Sant Joan and Gràcia neighbourhood. If you like going for a walk, within 30min you can also reach Parc Güell, Parc de la Ciutadella, Passeig de Gràcia, the beach or even Barri Gòtic (that's the old town).

Getting around

About public transportation, you have 2 subway lines right here (we call them 'metro', by the way) and around 12 different bus lines. We recommend buying a T-10 card to use the public transportation system but you better check out the Barcelona Card just in case it suits you better.

We’re also very well connected to Sants Train Station and El Prat Airport. In case you come with your own car, there’s a couple of private garages around the building and also a low cost parking lot (perfect for longer stays) a little further away but directly connected by metro.

Other Things to Note

Any question left? Feel free to ask as many as you need. We look forward to meeting you!

And don't forget to take look at our Façebock (can’t mention it by name but you know what we mean, don’t you?). You can search us as ‘JoanPere Jaume’. Have a nice day!

Excellent location, helpful owners. However, room was
too small for comfort, and kitchen could greatly benefit
from modernization, like the purchase of a new stove.

Response from Joan Pere & Jaume:

Duc is right: the room is too small for a long term use with lots of luggage. In fact, we clearly say so in our profile. The question is: why they rented the room if they had a lot of luggage and where going to stay a long time? Discomfort was going to happen for sure!

We try our best to write truthful descriptions, but it’s very important that guests read them carefully before booking. In fact, we encourage you to ask as many questions as needed just to make sure we can offer the kind of experience you are searching for.

  • The apartment was as expected. Wonderful view if the Sagrada. 5 minute walk from the Sagrada but in a residential neighborhood away from the tourists but close enough to easily access the hop on hop off bus. Metro is 5 minute walk, the room is small but very comfortable for one person. Two people could stay if a short stay. The apt. Is quiet. Easy walk to restaurants in the neighborhood. The hosts are very kind and easy to have good conversations with. The hosts are extremely helpful, welcoming and hospitable. They love sharing their knowledge about Barcelona and give the extras that make it special. Staying here is like visiting friends. I would highly recommend this apartment.

  • We had an excellent stay with Jaume and Joan Pere. They responded promptly to our last minute accomodation request and gave useful directions to the flat and other information. The flat was in an amazing location! Right next to the beautiful Sagrada Familia, which you could even see from the flat window. Jaume and Joan Pere were very friendly and welcoming and gave us some really useful information about things to do, places to eat etc and we had the most amazing time in Barcelona as a result! I would definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting Barcelona!

About
Hello! We are a polite and funny couple with a lot of interests (music, comics, the Eurovision Song Contest, steam trains...) that also loves to host people from different cultures from around the world. We speak Catalan, Spanish, German, English and French. Joan Pere works as a foreman builder and Jaume is a sound engineer and also an osteopath (if needed, I can take care of you while you stay whit us). You can see more about us in Façebock (this page doesn't allow to mention that other one by name, sorry!) if you search us as 'jaume.joanpere'. Oh, and if you want to discover the 'real' Barcelona, just ask. Have a nice day! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
