We stayed here for one short night before our return flight. This is truly a gem and we highly recommend staying here. Located within walking distance of Sanur, we were captivated by the quiet and peacefulness. This is not for those looking for an active, nightlife scene. What…

I have very mixed feelings about this place. One the one hand, the cottage is lovely. It is quiet, peaceful, and the provided drying rack for swimsuits is a nice touch. On the other hand, the place is quite isolated and completely devoid of commercial amenities like restaurant…

As shown on the map, we are 1.5km north of Sanur. We prefer to have independent guests, or at least guests who have functioning smartphone! Uber is very easy to arrange from our house, and I had to call one for Isa to get to her pre-booked surfing lesson ten minutes away because she found the local driver's full-day rental rate too expensive. It's very funny for Isa to comment that I have a potential language/communication barrier with my mum, who hosts the place. Mum had been in bed for 3 weeks with fever until Isa arrived, and did her best to host her. I was home very briefly in between my USA and Europe trips and tried my best to communicate with Isa and answer her dozen-or-so queries. Meal prices are stated in the welcome message received by all our guests. Isa joined a family feast as we were hosting some friends from around the world. The price she paid for it was as stated in the welcome message, despite the meal being much more lavish. We are a 1.5km (less than 1 mile) walk to Sanur via the beach-side walkway. Guests who are used to urban environments with "walking distance" meaning 200 meters/yards may be better suited to bed and breakfasts in Sanur proper.

Staying at the villa was a great experience, very restful and beautiful place. The black sand beach outside the villas is wonderful especially at dawn and dusk. You are close to the tourist area of Sanur yet only about 1km away there are very few tourists and you can learn about …

I had a wonderful 4 nights here. Although I didn't meet Kadek, Sarita was always very helpful and attentive. The bungalow was beautiful and very clean. All the staff was attentive and were always able and willing to help when I needed a taxi or wanted to borrow a bike. I enjoyed …

Hi Liz, you will be happy to hear that the stray dog that wandered into the property seems to have found a home, and we are going to put up a garden gate to the swimming pool area to prevent further visits from any lost doggies that may have been dumped by their owners (sometimes expats take in dogs, and then when they leave they don't arrange proper homes for them). There's a dog foundation that we notify, and support, when we find this has happened.

Really wonderful stay with Sarita, Kadek, et al. Be warned, there is an adorable dog on the premises and I found it especially hard to leave her tinkly bell and enthusiasm for head scratches. The place is beautiful and you really do fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. It was g…

Kathleen was a delight to host, in spite of suffering from the effects of jet lag and an extreme temperature change, she managed to perk up and get out and enjoy each day as it came. Well organized and independent, and always smiling, and tolerant of our staff's efforts to clean the open air living and bathroom spaces where leaves continue to fall, and blow in, so five minutes after sweeping/cleaning up there is another pile awaiting.

I stayed one night here and had a lovely time. Kadek and his mother are both wonderful people and made us feel very comfortable in their home. A bit of a walk to the center of Sanur but they let us use their bikes which really helped out. The location is right among the locals an…

We enjoyed Jaclynn's stay. It's always nice to host someone who is interested in the local life, and even in her short time here Jaclynn managed to see the kite-flying, as the local boys were practicing for a competition. Loved your brief but happy visit Jaclynn - do come again!

Born and raised in Bali, I pursued tertiary education in New Zealand and Canada and returned to Bali in 2005. I manage Bali Eco Tours, and initially set up this AirBnB account to help my mum (born in NZ, has lived in Bali for over 40 years) get guests for her BnB. I slowly added …
