It was my first time staying with Airbnb and my experience couldn't be more amazing! Clara's cottage was amazing! The weather was beautiful and we couldn't ask for a better escape from the everyday grind! I can't thank Tenaya enough for her hospitality! The outside tub was our favorite because it made us go outside the norm and we had a blast doing it. So many good laughs and great pictures!!
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Clara's Cottage. The outdoor tub was *amazing* -- and we didn't let the rain stop us from enjoying it! We had a great time exploring the dunes and watching the storm roll in as well. Would definitely come back again!
Where do I even begin? :) I had Clara's Cottage saved onto my favorites for the longest time. Everytime I wanted to daydream about a future vacation, I would go browse at pictures and read reviews. The opportunity finally came for a visit to this lovely cottage on President's Day weekend. It was beyond perfect. The kitchen was perfect for making small meals and brewing that cup of hot tea, so you can sit in the living room and watch the bird party outside your window.
The bed was so comfortable, and the stove made it nice and toasty.
I can write an ode to just the outdoor bathtub. How do I love thee, outdoor bathtub? It was amazing bathing under the stars, and also during the day. On our last evening there, I took a bath and was accompanied by the most adorable calico I have ever met, Bella. I am now Bella's biggest fan.
Tenaya is gracious, sweet, accommodating and so welcoming. We cannot wait to come back.
We had a truly lovely time staying at Clara's Cottage. It was everything we hoped for and more. About 10 minutes north of Ft. Bragg and within a few minutes' walk to the most incredible sand dunes we've ever seen, the cottage is private, cozy and appointed with many sweet touches that give it a home-away-from-home feel. Tenaya greeted us upon our arrival and made sure we knew how everything worked before leaving us in complete privacy for the remainder of our stay. We loved the outdoor shower and claw-foot soaking tub as well as the delicious homemade jam and applesauce Tenaya left for us. Overall, we left feeling utterly restored if a little sad our stay had to come to an end!
Clara's Cottage is stunning. It's clear that Tenaya and her husband have put a tremendous about of care into making it the perfect getaway. What could be better than a bath outdoors under the huge cypress tree, watching the stars from the garden, waking up to watch the birds at the feeder outside our window, and walking down to the mountainous sand dunes before breakfast?
We had the most wonderful weekend at Clara's Cottage and so enjoyed meeting Tenaya and Dora and staying at their wonderful spot. The cottage is absolutely charming - so much care was clearly put into it. From the special muffins, jam and applesauce Tenaya left to the well-equipped kitchen, comfy and cozy bedroom, and gorgeous grounds, we were so sad to leave, but can't wait to return and stay again! Thank you Tenaya - hope to see you soon!
Clara's Cottage is such a special place. It was the perfect get away from the busy city of San Francisco.
The cottage is beautiful and cozy and the outdoor bathtub is amazing. Stargazing from a hot bath was definitely a magical experience!
The nearby beaches are easily accessible and so beautiful and the hiking is great!
My boyfriend and I felt so lucky to be able to spend a few days and nights at this wonderful place. Tenaya is a great host and she had very special treats ready for us upon arrival. The homemade blackberry jam, applesauce, and muffins were such a nice touch and so delicious!
We definitely would love to return to Clara's Cottage next time we need a relaxing and romantic break from the city.
Thanks for sharing your incredible space with us Tenaya!
Magical, airy, yet snug place that was cozy in January with a woodstove - and the outdoor tub was great. Easy walk to the dunes and Mckerricher Park. Tenaya's welcoming gifts of muffins, homemade applesauce and blackberry jam, set the tone for a lovely weekend at a lovely person's cottage.
It's the little things that make a vacation memorable, enjoyable, and relaxing. Clara's cottage has all those little things: from the beautiful outdoor bath--equipped with bath salts, bubbles, etc.--to the sugar cubes in the kitchen, everything about our stay here was comfortable and easy. Hunting for sand dollars is hardly a hunt on the nearby beach, and Tenaya's clear directions and recommendations will keep you from getting lost in the dunes! We were at the cottage in foggy, drizzly weather and enjoyed reading, games, eating, talking, and napping in the cottage, but the cottage is sure to be a delight during the sunny months as well because the garden has lots of little places to sit and smell the flowers, or fruit trees, and watch the birds. The nearby town of Fort Bragg is adorable, but there is really no reason to leave the cozy comfort of the secluded cottage--so we didn't! Maybe next time we'll get out and about in the surrounding area...or then again, maybe not.
Our stay at Clara's cottage was a wonderful introduction to the Mendocino coast as well as Airbnb.
All I can say is that Clara's Cottage is an absolutely gem! We were so lucky to find it - and probably even luckier to have it available. It is just the right size for two people, it is set in an amazing garden - which I would love to see in the summer - and the outside shower is simply incredible.
In addition to a beautiful and cozy place to stay, Tenaya is a wonderful host. So much so that we ended our stay with an incredible walk on the beach with Tenaya and her lovely dog Dora.
It really couldn't have been a better trip. Do yourself a favor if you're going to Fort Bragg and stay here. I just recommend booking early because this place will be discovered soon.
